“First time in Greenville late April 2023, our friends wanted to show us downtown right away. We started at Camperdown Plaza to get drinks and appetizers at CAMP's Modern American Eatery. (separate review) What a wonderful space. Love the modern public art, the open space, the wind, the restaurants, the ease of walking everywhere. Directly in this plaza are the high hanging white triangles outside of Spaces Fall Tower visitors and locals see ascending the stairs the way we entered. Also is the "The Common Thread" display of three textile totems representing a Safety Pin, Needle and Wooden Bobbin in homage to the textile industry that is the work history of Greenville. The individual shapes made from steel, wood and concrete that make up each pole are interesting to take in during the day, and at night they light up in changing colors to add to the festivity of the Plaza.Featured also in this review is a photo of the contemporary luxury Hyatt Regency Greenville in the neighboring NOMA Square (short for North Main since it's on North Main Street) that lights up this plaza with its bold purple lights from top to bottom. On South Main Street, the statue of the "Father of Greenville," Vardry McBee, can be seen right near the popular restaurant "Soby's."On Main St. people can enjoy looking at "Il Porcellino," a bronze wild boar that is a replica of a statue placed in Florence, Italy in 1612. Put a coin in its mouth and make a wish. If it drops in the grate below your desire will be granted. At least rub its nose for good luck to assure you'll return to this beautiful small city.A favorite of ours nearby was OCTO 2, an 18 foot kinetic sculpture created by artist Anthony Howe that moves with the breeze. (see video)There are other statues to see here that are both modern and historic. Take in the Reedy River and its falls and bridges, some live music and tasty southern treats mixed in with classic dining menus, museums of note, and don't forget the Paris Mountain State Park.”

“We LOVED working with Avenue for our May wedding! The venue was the perfect location and the perfect put together space. We did several walk throughs and with the help of our planner had no surprises walking into our wedding day. Everything was perfect! The staff the day of made sure we were well cared for and brought us drinks and even ginger ale when we needed to calm our nerves. I would highly recommend this beautiful space to any future brides or event planners. The staff and the space are absolutely top notch!”

“I have not stayed here in years and had forgotten how much I love the location, rooms and service. The service was spectacular. One person, Teagan, took care of the issues (that was of my making). I actually prefer this place to The Grand Bohemian in Greenville (which is 3x more expensive). SUPERB!!!!!DavidRooms: Plenty big enough with character.Nearby activities: Great bookstore next door and coffee within walking distance (Methodical Coffee).Walkability: Right in downtown.”

“We have booked with Larkins for many of our celebrations: graduation parties, wedding, and birthdays. Sawmill is a great location with great parking. We recently hosted a birthday party for my mom - staff was amazing! They really took care of all our needs. The venue was already set upon arrival. From planning the event to the day of, communication was great! I highly recommend booking with Larkins!”

“Building itself is what you would expect for an AC Marriott (same layout/design/overall feel). I've always found AC to be accommodating to requests and this was no exception. Front desk associate was really nice and helpful (was able to take care of an early check in so I could attend a meeting). Maybe it's just a brand thing but the rooms are almost a little too modern, as in bordering on uncomfortable. The bed was fine but the couch and other chairs were really uncomfortable. The building is also really loud, I kept hearing things all night. But the location is perfect and close to lots of restaurants and bars.”

“Hidden Gem! Fell in love with the game of golf at this par 3. Fabulous place to learn the game and teach your children. Course is a 9 hole par three with 18 tee boxes. Low membership fees. Don't miss this hidden gem.”

“Very chill and played back. The food is phenomenal. The pretzels are worth every cent. The wings fried to perfection and the sauces are delicious. The jerk sauce was so good I had to take some home along with a pretzel. Oh and the fries are better than all the fries I've tasted in Greenville.”

“This place is super super nice and clean .. the heated pool was amazing till it got a lil hood up in there ... almost seen a kid drown cause his parents was more worried about getting high outside.. other than that it was nice.. the breakfast was amazing as ”

“This is consistent with the excellent quality of Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels, with a breakfast superior to most other hotels in this category. There is a choice between Valet Parking for $22 a night or Garage parking across the street for $10. The location is an easy walk to most places in downtown Greenville. Check-in-out was polite and straightforward. My only concern is that all rooms in this hotel are Pet-friendly, and I did find a live tick on the desk. There should be designated animal rooms for people who travel with pets. I would go out of my way to book a hotel without a pet-friendly policy to every room.”

“They are well-made mini-apartments with everything you need for cooking. There is also a well-stocked gym. Too bad about the noisy fridge, but ok overall!Rooms: Comfortable.”

“We visited today for an adaptive play event for disabled individuals. Our main purpose for visiting was so our 7 year old would have the opportunity to visit the pool since larger crowds make it difficult for him to participate. The facility was well maintained and we appreciate the family bathrooms and shower area. These are a necessity when you have a disabled family member. The lifeguards were kind and one almost immediately acknowledged that we had an ASD kiddo with us. He has a hard time following, remembering, and understanding directions. Our son really enjoyed the slide and we managed to redirect him most of the time to use the stairs when we saw him attempting to climb up the wrong way. He was having a blast and I was able to remain at the bottom of the slide so he could have some independence. We spent about 40 minutes there and then a lady came out of the office next to the pool to tell us that our son could not slide down the slide the way that he was sliding. He was laying on his belly, going feet first. Apparently, you can only slide down on your butt. I had to start following him up and redirecting him to sit down in order for him to continue using the slide. When my husband was questioning the lady about the proper way to use the slide, my husband asked the lady" what if we can't make him do that?" Her response shocked me. Her response was "You SHOULD be able to." This is not a very inclusive statement AT.ALL. There are a lot of individuals with cognitive disabilities and they deserve to have equal access to facilities without staff judgment. While we found the facilities nice, we did not find it completely inclusive even at an event for disabled people.”

“My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Greenville for Thanksgiving while visiting friends and the hotel was amazing. We received a nice handwritten note from Rianna when we arrived welcoming us to the hotel which was a nice touch. Rooms were great, very clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff were very helpful with recommendations for restaurants. Loved the location on Main Street as everything was within walking distance. We will definitely be back!”

“The even we went to was great had a lot of fun and enjoyed ourselves very much we drove all the way from Columbia sc to go see el Torito great music. The only downfall was the security that came after the night was done they were very unprofessional and inappropriate there was an issue with my group got caught up with a lady started saying bad word and acting very aggressive everyone in both parties started acting up me and my friend went controlled everyone and we were backing off try to leave we told all the security that were involved and that we were backing off and we just waiting on our Uber driver with no hesitation the old security with a white beard didn't even think about it and pulled out Pepper spray and sprayed us they hurt my wife hurt my other friends nose and then on top of it all the still came at us and tryed to fight us we keeper telling them multiple time leave us alone we are just trying to leave and they keep saying just leave we told them we are we are just waiting on our Uber driver. It was very unprofessional the way they handled everything and how they just came at us the got POWER HUNGRY. To top it all off to officer's from Greenville PD came we tried to explain ourselves and they totally ignored what I was saying one told me stay hear let me talk to the security and all they were doing was just laughing at the situation and the other officer I tried to explain to him all he said was " maybe they just want you gone" I then told him I understand that all we were waiting is for the Uber I can't force Uber to come any sooner. He shrub his shoulders and just keeper talking to the other officer I told them all we wanted them to do was to mention to the security that there was no need for all of the hostility and paper spray and trying to fight us how are they there to control situations when all they did was make it worse.”

“Great ambience and location. The restaurant was very enjoyable, and food was good. Enjoyed the downtime vibe. Room was nice, but a little pricey. Housekeeping did not clean room the first day; front desk said they would get it the next day...we were leaving the next day. They did send up some towels, etc. Overall a good experience.Rooms: I felt room was pricey, but being able to walk downtown and shop was nice. Felt very safe. Lots of dining choices”

“Brooklyn, Robyn, Chris, and others, teamed together to make our stay special and significant. I was in a local Greenville SC hospital to have emergency thoracic surgery. My wife and son flew in to be with me. The Crown Plaza team got them shuttled in from the airport, to and from the hospital for a week, advised them of local attractions, eateries, and the downtown area. They were effortlessly over the top with hospitality, making every encounter special the entire time. Bravo! Great job!The CooksSafety: Environment around hotel feels very safe.Food & drinks: Ruth's Chris on site!Strossner's across the street!”
