I brought the tire to a location nearby for the change-out and Kevin, their sales associate was excellent. Since I was only dropping off and picking up the replacement, I spent less than 10 minutes total at the location. The replacement tire was ready, mounted and balanced in less than half an hour. Next to a pit stop at a NASCAR race, this was the fastest experience you can find for tire service. “I've used the Charlotte, NC location of Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists for years. Every experience has been great. Good pricing and good service.

This week I went to them to mount and balance the new tires for my car. While there I asked them to straiten the wheels any bends and damage as these wheels have been my daily on the car for about a years. Not only did they make my wheels as strait as new but they were able to refinish them in powder coat (better than regular paint) for a very affordable amount.

Another note, details are important. In one picture you'll see the mating surface for the hub was cleaned and kept clean of powder coat. This is important so the wheels mount strait to the car and don't cause a vibration. Another note on avoiding vibration. They properly balance your wheels. You'd be surprised how many shops incorrectly install wheel weights. I worked in shops for over 15 years and have seen so much wrong. I can say the guys at Alloy Wheel Repair are doing it right.

I also recommend buying your tire certificates for the added peace of mind. Their website is a great place to buy the tires, and you can schedule an appointment there without any problems for the installation. They also have a no hassle rotation and balancing service, and also patching of flats included with the purchase. I’ve had a couple of tires patched without any problems, and I have never had any problem getting my tires balanced or rotated either. Don’t waste your time looking to save a couple of bucks anywhere else. I made that mistake a couple of years ago, and bought a couple of tires from Walmart… It took hours just to get two tires installed, and the person who installed them over inflated one of the tires to the point of actually damaging it and had to replace it. So save yourself the headache, just go to discount tire. You will not be sorry.”

On Friday (01.23.2026) with the pending winter weather predicted for the Carolinas, I decided to install 4 Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires on my car. “Their prices are fair and the service is good. They actually make good on their road hazard insurance for their tires too. There's so much construction going on around town I've had to use it multiple times. One time I put an 8" bolt (it was hiding in a puddle) through the tread and sidewall on a tire I bought a few months prior. They replaced the whole thing without a complaint. The employees seem to be under some new management directive to try to sell more services than I wanted but they did take no for an answer. So it's ok.”
