I also loved learning that the shark tooth jewelry is made by a local artist using shark teeth collected from the Charleston beach area. How cool is that?!

“This is a beautiful shop with so many options for everyone in mind. The items are from local artisans. Steph was so pleasant to talk to. She even provided some toys for my toddler to play with. “Happy Bird is such a hidden gem! It’s a small, personalized gift shop filled with unique Lowcountry and Charleston treasures—not the same generic souvenirs you find everywhere else. They have the cutest cards, Charleston artwork, Palmetto gifts, napkins, jewelry, kitchen items, children’s gifts, pet accessories, and so much more.

What makes the shop truly special, though, is the people. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful and takes the time to get to know you and help you personalize the perfect gift. She helped me find an adorable turtle wine glass for my friend Charlotte, and every present is always wrapped so beautifully.

Today, I met Emily, who was just as sweet. We talked about our teaching experiences, our families, where we’re from, and sea turtles. I love how warm and open everyone is and how genuinely they connect with the people who walk through the door. The employees are all absolutely adorable.

“Not sure why so many negative reviews. I found several Patriot’s Point/USS Yorktown souvenirs and the employees were all pleasant. This is also a great spot if you’re looking for Charleston themed souvenirs as well during your trip. To top it off, they sell some local baked goods at the front including pralines.”
