Sylvia is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming. If she doesn't know the answer to something, she'll happily find it for you—and I really appreciate that honesty. You can tell she genuinely cares about her customers and is passionate about what she does.
She personally hand-selects every item in the shop and truly stands behind each one. You can feel the thought, love, and intention that goes into every piece. Her crystals and stones are humanely sourced, which is something I deeply respect and will always support.
I also loved learning that the shark tooth jewelry is made by a local artist using shark teeth collected from the Charleston beach area. How cool is that?!

Jessica was amazing in helping picking out a ring, and despite a sizing issue (not Emblers problem but a third party), Jessica got everything fixed in a timely manner and was communicative throughout the process. As someone who does not wear jewelry and knows next to nothing about rings, Jessica knows what is trendy and will get you set up with something you will be really happy with. My wife and I both love our rings and Emblers made it happen. 11/10! I would not go anywhere else after my great experience here. “Happy Bird is such a hidden gem! It’s a small, personalized gift shop filled with unique Lowcountry and Charleston treasures—not the same generic souvenirs you find everywhere else. They have the cutest cards, Charleston artwork, Palmetto gifts, napkins, jewelry, kitchen items, children’s gifts, pet accessories, and so much more.
What makes the shop truly special, though, is the people. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful and takes the time to get to know you and help you personalize the perfect gift. She helped me find an adorable turtle wine glass for my friend Charlotte, and every present is always wrapped so beautifully.
Today, I met Emily, who was just as sweet. We talked about our teaching experiences, our families, where we’re from, and sea turtles. I love how warm and open everyone is and how genuinely they connect with the people who walk through the door. The employees are all absolutely adorable.
I truly wish more people knew about Happy Bird. It’s the perfect place to find thoughtful gifts for friends, family, or anyone visiting Charleston—and the experience feels just as personal as the gifts themselves.”
