I posted a review 6 months ago and felt compelled to update my review, due to some inaccurate bad reviews I have recently discovered in regard to this business. I have been a long time customer and will only go to this establishment for my pet needs. I have bought two beautiful pythons in heatlhy condition and I go to this store weekly, to buy live mice and rats for my pythons. The cages are always clean when I go there. The birds are not scary nor dangerous. For someone to state this, makes me mad. I spend time with Remi their loving parrot, but I have also had other birds come up to me and were so sweet. I have never had any issues with there animals. Shavings can get kicked out of the side of the cage, by the animals, with movement, burrowing, or going to the bathroom, especially with rabbits, chinchillas Guinea pigs. This is normal. The animals have enough space. These are the same type of cages you would use at home. Snakes can have hut and a water bowl in their cage, that’s acceptable. I currently own six beautiful pythons, so I know about snakes. I have seen these employees actually take time to handle these animals. They care about there animals and are very knowledgeable. I have witnessed this, cause I’m a regular customer.

2876 Howard Ave unit c, Myrtle BeachMy 15 lb. Corgie/Chihuahua mix Jackson is getting old, he's nearly 18 and as he doesn't get out hiking/walking like he used to, he now has to have his nails clipped from time to time.
My wife and I brought him on a few different occasions to another dog grooming place and unfortunately the experience the last two times Jackson resulted with at least one bloody nail and Jackson being very uncomfortable and we can't have that.
Time for a new place and I'm SOOOO glad a friend recommended Market Common Grooming Salon! Ali at the front desk was so friendly and pleasant. I explained to her that Jackson is getting old and has a few medical issues I wanted them to be aware of before I brought him in. She told me that was no problem and as it was just for his nails, to bring him in anytime, no appointment needed.
I had Jackson already out in the truck so I brought him in. Less than 10 minutes later I had him back and his nails were perfect. Ali explained to me that they actually use a Dremel like tool to carefully grind them down as it has two big advantages. First one and probably most important is that this way they don't clip them too short, which is why Jackson had bloody nails at the other place. The other advantage is that the nail when clipped is still sharp. The tool Ali used leaves them smooth and more rounded off and less likely to get caught on stuff and less likely to scratch.
I can't say enough how happy both Jackson and I were with our experience at Market Common Grooming Salon. Thank you so much to them and Ali in particular. If you want superior service and live in the Market Common area I highly suggest bringing your furry friend here. You'll be glad you did!

Petite dog grooming was able to fit us in, and did the best grooming job we have ever had. I am so sad she doesn’t live where we are at. She is fantastic!!! And my dog was so happy with her!!!

River Oaks Animal Hospital
4016 River Oaks Dr C2, Myrtle BeachAbsolutely the best veterinarian clinic that we've found on the Grand Strand (and we've tried a few). We were impressed from the parking lot all the way through to the end of the visit. As we were walking through the parking lot one of the veterinarian technicians was on her way in. We could tell she was genuinely happy to be going to work. As a matter of fact all of the staff seemed to enjoy their job. Our dog loved everyone there too. Dr. Duncan and the technician took time to explain what they were doing, to answer our questions and to love our girl.
We've found our veterinarian and will recommend them to everyone! -Amy
EDIT: Updating this to say that three years later we're still tremendously happy at River Oaks Animal Hospital. They are kind and caring. Our girl (dog) loves to go. They truly love animals and it shows!
2nd EDIT: Another year in and we're still loving River Oaks Animal Hospital.
3rd EDIT: I don't know when was the last time that I updated this review but I'm back again to say that we're still loving River Oaks. I recommended them just the other day.
They have grown a lot since we first starting with them but are still providing great, individualized care. I don't know how Dr. Duncan finds her staff but they are all friendly and seem to enjoy their work.
4th EDIT: Here I am again providing another update... We very much appreciate the staff of River Oaks Animal Hospital. They are thorough, kind, and knowledgeable. We've experienced annual visits, snake bite envenomation, raisin ingestion, and nose bleeds with our girl. I often say that she (our girl) is trying to send me to an early grave but in every case the River Oaks staff have been right there letting us know what's going on, calming me, and most of all providing exception care. I wouldn't even think about trusting our girl to anyone else.
5th EDIT: I continue to say that River Oaks Animal Hospital is the best veterinary office that I've experienced. They all sincerely care about our girl and I would assume all of their patients. I appreciate that they have always been there for us and our active girl with knowledge and compassion. I trust them and that is invaluable.

Animal Emergency Hospital of the Strand
2669 Beaver Run Blvd, Myrtle BeachWe had gone there for unfortunately not good circumstances. Our boy Duke wasn’t doing too well, so we decided to take him in quickly. They were very helpful with everything we needed. Duke needed to be on a gurney and they brought it right out to our truck. They took such good care of him and even did after he had passed. We were so heartbroken but they explained everything so well to us that we were able to fully understand what was going on with him. We got him cremated and they gave him back to us in such a lovely urn with a beautiful note. I am very happy and grateful for the care that we have received with everything that had happened. We will definitely recommend them to our friends and family. Thank you again to the staff and doctors for taking such good care of our boy Duke. ????

Castle’s trainer, Kristin, was just as awesome. She really understood him and worked with his personality in such a thoughtful way. Before training, walks were stressful and fetch (his favorite thing ever) was a bit chaotic. Now, he’s so much more calm, focused, and just overall better behaved. It’s been such a huge improvement, and we’re so grateful.

They are short staffed/volunteers. They are doing their best. They just reopened their clinic with online appointments so I tried it out and taking my new pup today for shots. I've never been inside. I'm too afraid I'll leave with more than I can handle. Happy 50th Anniversary!!!
