“I stopped at the store on Hwy 15 N in Sumter, SC. It was real early morning January 5, 2022 & although I didn’t want to stop, I had no choice as my dogs were out of food. My husband had just passed away late the night before. I was a complete mess when I went in there & of course emotionally distraught. My mind was all over the place & there was no way to fight off the tears. I got to the counter to pay & told the young lady to please forgive me as I had just lost my husband. She stopped everything she was doing & ran out to me with open arms & a shoulder to cry on. She held me up when I couldn’t hold it together. She was so genuinely compassionate & caring. She even walked me to the car & gave me a final hug goodbye. I hope you will please recognize this young lady. I found out her name is Brittany & she is no longer at this store but has moved to another store. She is so sweet & caring. You really have a winner with this employee! ?”
“I'm a fan of foodlion. There produce is good. If your fruit is not sweet, there's no need to put it on the shelf. And foodlion does not have that problem. Never had a complaint yet. My favorite store.”
“Little more expensive than other grocery stores in the area, but you get what you pay for when it comes to the meats. If your looking for a good steak or quality meats, this is my #1 recommendation for this town. Store is clean and service is good. The bakery is also good and has good cooked food options. They have a wing bar that's open during the day and you can get a bunch of wings to fit in a box there for a good price and they are really good wings.”

“They finally add more self checkouts! It's a good thing about it. I just have a recommendation that would be better if people with less than 20 items use the self checkout and people with more than 20 items can use the cashier (Commissary in Osan Base, Korea did put the sign for this and it seems better and faster). The place here is pretty clean inside outside and has a large parking lot.”
“Great Dollar General....well stocked and friendly staff. Lots of early Christmas decorations. Did you know they sell Dollar General gift cards?!? Going on my Christmas wish list.”

“I’m a returning customer to this location. I’ve never really had any problems here. Staff has always been polite to my family and prices are pretty competitive. Reviewers complaining about low inventory should realize what’s going on across the country with the supply chains before they bash the Dollar General team that works there. Low inventory is a problem everywhere, not just at Sumter Dollar General.”

“This dollar general is very clean. Shelving was stocked and labeled correctly. Bathroom was not the cleanest. No toilet paper. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The parking lot was well maintained. Good shopping experience and speedy checkout.”
“I was greeted as soon as I entered the establishment I knew exactly what I was looking for did not need any assistance. The store was clean and it smelled Pleasant. The store had ample parking but they need to paint the lines in the parking lot again the lines on the parking spaces are worn out. But all is well at this establishment will return.”

As soon as you walk in they great you! If you need help they help with a pleasant attitude! Most of all they treat there customers like family!”

“It's a normal convenience store. It has your typical stuff: gas, soda, coffee, food, snacks, lottery, newspaper, and slashes. It has a wide variety of these products. I stop by often when I pick up my son from Lakewood.”
“It ain't pretty, it ain't 24 hours, but they have breakfast cheap food and a clean bathroom. Little but of grass for the dog to play around on. Dirt lot but space for about 20 trucks. If you need to stop for the night, this place is alright. Not lit up, but really aren't y'all tired of lot lights in your eyes all night?”

“Yum! Excellent cheeseburgers, home fries, and raw fries cooked real crispy (potato cut like circle chips). Catfish and everything cooked to order. Ms. Betty, the chef, was very nice and whips up a mean delicious lunch. The convenience is also well stocked with drinks, chips, snacks, etc.”
