Horrible!!! Charged me for an additional driver when I am entitled to an additional driver via my status. The driver was my daughter as I am widowed and she is my listed travel partner. Took the $41 justifying she didn't count because I didn't have a spouse. HORRIBLE people!!! Don't choose them!!!

This is not a full Hertz this is like an independent owner of Hertz. They do recognize your status but don’t let that make you feel like they will accommodate you.I was in line at the counter for over 30minutes, I was 4th in line, the agent had been dealing with a customer this entire time. He should have called for assistance. Finally another agent came out and started helping the others.Once it was my turn I was shown a paper that did not indicate any damage. Once out to the car I had to walked to the far end of the parking garage. But at first I saw an arrow pointing up for Hertz so I went upstairs the arrow was to indicate to keep going straight. I went to the spot to find my car sitting in a thrifty rental car parking spot and immediately saw a 6” scratch on the car that was not on the paper. I walked around the car taking photos of several spots. I got in the car to find that it had not been vacuumed and then saw the bottom of the drivers seat had the upholstery had been pulled loose. I documented this and had to go back inside.Once inside I had to wait again in line for about another 10-15 minutes.I was able to get my information squared away.Returns had signs where to go but I guess you just choose a spot. There was no information indicating this. There is no return “lane” to park in.Total time from the time I landed, got my luggage and my rental squared away it was about 1.5 hours with most of this with Hertz. A co worker used AVIS and had no issues. If I fly into Columbia SC again I will be using AVIS.

Honestly to have to leave this review is sad. The elder ladies that “assisted” me insulted my finances as well as my general sense of common sense. I lost my license and didn’t realize it until I arrived at the rental office. Once I realized I told the lady Ms.Rosa that I would be back. When I stepped away and went over to the exit doors I overhead Ms. Rosa tell her co-worker “how could I forget to bring my license?!” I let that go but it did bother me because why are you concerned with what has transpired that my license was not with me. When I returned and was notified toward the end of the rental process I was told that it was company policy as of the day before that ALL rentals must have coverage. I don’t have insurance due to driving a scooter as my daily, and I have been renting cars at least 1 somtimes 2x a year for nearly 16 years and I always waive the coverage and have never needed it. The other elder lady decided it was appropriate to say that I couldn’t afford the deductible if something was to happen. With the “so called manager” standing right there she did absolutely nothing. These were all women of my same race which made the whole interaction that much more sour to have to swallow because if we can’t watch, protect, encourage and look out for one another than who else will. Truly truly hurt my heart with the way they treated me.

Wish I could give a 0. When I went to pick up my car they said they needed my car (saying it wasnt prepaid which was no true 0 . My business looked in to it and should have been prepaid). While I was there they were talking on cell phones and talking to men in other rental car services screwing around. Flash forward..Returned my car and was suppose to get it for lower cost due to returning early. Looking at my credit card I have now been charged 2x when I picked it up and when I dropped off. Both amounts are wrong....Tried to just call Hertz customer service, but they told me I have to talk to the actual rental place. Literally have been trynig all day and its been busy. I feel pretty confident that its off the hooks. I have disputed the charges on my credit card. Just ridiculous I cant get a hold of anyone!

Worst Hertz location ever. I travel a lot for work and this is by far the worst rental car experience ever. Be prepared to stand and wait for someone to show up at the desk, waiting over 20 minutes for an employee to show. They are consistently slow, will not have the car you reserved, and most of the time rude. Use any other rental company.

This is the WORSE Hertz location I have ever used. I would prefer to give it 0 stars. I called before booking my rental to confirm the type of vehicle I would like. I called back again 2 more times to confirm the vehicle type I would like to reserve. Upon arrival the vehicle was not in my reservation and they magically had no recollection of it. The manager Trece said she would escalate this to her manager and provide me with a discount. A week later I am still waiting. I called 3 times this week and no return phone call. I tried calling a few minutes again and the phone has a busy signal. I live in Maryland, so I guess I have to drive 8 hours bak to the location for anyone to help me. What a waste of 1000.00

The worst experience for rental car. They forced me to buy their own insurance even though I have paid insurance through the rental car website. This never happened with other car rental company in my previous bookings. Will never use Hertz again and the staff member was very rude and unprofessional.Updates— I got cancelled the online insurance and bought their own insurance. However they did not have the car advertised on the website. Eventually I cancelled this booking and spent almost three hours there. Will never use Hertz again and would not recommend this company to anyone.

I wish I could give them a zero. This is THE worse Hertz I have ever used and I've used a lot. Agents are rude. They didn't even honor the price on the reservation. One agent actually refused to even look at the print out of the reservation. They do not care about their customers and corporate can't seem to get them to do what's right, since they are a franchise. RUN...FAST... and rent from any other company except this one.

I didn’t even have a rental with this company and I felt compelled to leave a 5 star review. Late on a Saturday night, Jeff helped me track down where my rental was being held, at a different rental car company, over the phone. Exceptional customer service given to a customer that was not even his to care for. If I have a choice who I rent through when I rent at KCAE, I would wait in a very long line to be helped by Jeff.
