“Ok so…My granddaughter and I went to a local bank to open an account. When we walked in, everyone greeted us with a resounding “Hello! How you doin’ today? How can we help you?”We found Kathy.Kathy is just the sweetest most personable bank manger I have ever met... So is everyone else I meet in Tennessee. And I told Kathy that because after she found out I was from California, she quickly exclaimed, “Well welcome! We’re so glad to have you!” I said to her, “Kathy, every single person I meet in Tennessee are the kindest most sweetest people I’ve ever met. I feel so welcomed everywhere I go.” To where Kathy said, without skipping a beat, swiftly told me why. She said, “We’ll honey, you’re in the Bible Belt and that’s just how we were all raised over here. To live by the ‘Golden Rule.’ ‘Do unto others as you would do unto you. We wouldn’t have it any other way.” Then went onto my paperwork, laughing and cajoling with us like we were old friends. Then when we were finished, she took us to the tellers and the other officers introduce us personally to each and everyone in the bank.Unbelievable.Lord Jesus I am home! Tennessee, brings out the best in people and I am living proof.For the rest of the day till now, I couldn’t stop thinking about my encounter with Kathy and the words she said has been on my mind and indeed is making a difference.In a world that has been wrenched with division and hate, loving people like Kathy and the sweet people at First Bank of Ooltewah and yes, thousands like them down here in the south, greeting this stranger with love and kindness EVERYWHERE I go is astonishing!I’m from California and I too was taught the Golden Rule but, have I gone out of my way to show a stranger this kind of love? I’m guessing not.This is something I will learn quickly because people like Kathy and the employees at the First Bank are giving this stuff away for free….I am in the SouthI am a TennesseanI am a SouthernerI cannot wait to welcome fellow pioneers and hopefully be as good as Kathy does.”

“My VISA card has been scammed 3 times in the last couple of years. When I tell them, they always issue me a new card and reimburse any amount that was taken, including over $1000 last time.
When I took a check in that had been through the washer, the teller took the time to tape it back together well enough that the machine would take it.

“I’m feeling kinda sad today because I looked and seen these 1 star reviews from people that seem to think the world starts and stops with them. I’ve been at this bank for more than 10 years and the people inside the bank have changed over the years but their values haven’t changed. They offer face to face interaction and obviously that’s at a premium… Also every successful business has open and closed schedule and as a customer I know these hours. I feel the current staff inside do a great job and they’re actually at a job unlike most of society. It could be way worse. Why do we worry about the 1 percent of unsatisfied that will stay unsatisfied? Thank you Ringgold branch for all you do!”

“absolutely adore this entire establishment. i was quoted 800$ and 26.9% interest rate on a motorcycle i wanted through a dealership lender and i knew that was too high so i called first financial and ended up working with Nijia and she made it possible to bring my bike home with a very low interest rate been dreaming of getting a bike for years and Nijia made that dream possible and in my price range. she made the whole process very under stable especially for someone whose never dealt with a dealership or buying something brand new. this place will go out of their way to make it happen absolutely adore this entire establishment cause they made the biggest dream of mine a actual accomplishment i would’ve have made had it not been for them.”
