“It is abundantly evident that the artwork of David Arms comes from a heart that is acutely attuned to his faith and to the beauty of nature. Particularly skilled at capturing the detail of birds, the piece we purchased, “Foundation” features two content little hummingbirds perched on delicate branches. The attention to detail in the birds is stunning. In describing this piece David Arms notes that the sticks represent the fragility of our lives and our homes when they try to stand on their own. It’s only when they are sunk into a firm foundation (the Trinity, represented by the three vessels), that they stand strong. And we are able to rest in that.”

“this is the place to be for an art and history experience! mel was awesome, so happy to chat with us about not only the beautiful pieces, but also about what brought us to the area. spent a bunch of time there, looking at the ton of art and asking questions about the different subjects, artists, and time periods. big thank you to mel for teaching us about the colonial money, pulling out old texas maps, and helping pretty up an already beautiful hand-colored, framed drawing that i fell in love with (pictured). i will remember the time at rare prints very fondly!”

“When you walk into Gallery 202, you are greeted with a warm welcome from the gallery owner, Kelly, and his infectious smile and southern hospitality. The gallery is full of beautiful pieces of art and antiques. Kelly is an amazing artist, and I have been able to purchase a couple of his paintings. He took great care in packaging the paintings, and they were shipped quickly. Please be sure to check out Gallery 202; you will be glad you did.”

“Fabulous artwork, pottery and other arts. Knowledgeable owner to discuss/inform about the artists…. And so much beautiful work on display… I could have stayed for hours, and maybe I did stay an hour but didn’t take long to find many pieces I loved. Did not leave empty handed!!”

“Loved this charming gallery. I walked in as a customer was thanking the staff for giving their name to the artist they had purchased from - the client and artist were able to connect about the purchase which is rare with galleries. The lit fireplace was a nice touch.”

“Such a nice, unique place. Art is in Market is a true artist's collective. You will notice their displays change tone and feel throughout the store, that's because they are all independent "stores" if you will by very different artists. There is one check out counter staffed by artists and regular workers, but you could be supporting a number of independent folks with your purchase. If you like folksy, they have it. More whimsy? That's there, too. Prefer real original photographs? That is there, as well. Truly something for everyone. I was introduced to this store by one of the photographer artists after he donated two original prints to an event I attended. I loved one of them, the Franklin Main St. that I took a picture of for your benefit, but the size at auction was larger than I preferred... and I got outbid. After a conversation with Brian, I knew I could then go here and buy my photo I wanted in one of three sizes... awesome! Hubby went with me and he was intrigued by a woodworker artists' small kits to put together multiple unique objects. We bought a tiny bi-plane and a Christmas tree, can't wait to work on that one free afternoon. Their t-shirts are not only unique designs, but they are printed with organic inks and the cotton is super yummy as well. You can tell the artists who show here really care about their craft and the environment - I really like the whole place. As an added bonus, but not the reason why I visited or chose to review them, during the holidays they additionally offer a free gift wrap station right in the store. Customers are invited to wrap up their unique holiday finds and, in the spirit of the season, make a donation to the store's charity of choice - Big Brothers Big Sisters. Yes, I work for Big Brothers Big Sisters... but I fell in love with the store and bought my photo print before I even knew about that small gesture of additional kindness. I think you'll feel the same after you visit!”
