I would like to give a special shot out to Nick at the Franklin Tn Hertz. We landed at the Nashville International Airport and there weren’t any cars available. We booked with Hertz in Franklin, Tn and had to catch an Uber there. When we arrived Nick told us that there weren’t any cars available and that we would have to wait. He then proceeded to take phone calls and explain the situation to other customers who weren’t as pleasant as my wife and I. Nick quarterbacked the entire dilemma with zero stress. With in 20 minutes he had all customers in cars and out the door. He handled the situation like a Roll Tide Quarterback. Nick I’m a 27 year Navy Sailor and we could use your leadership in the Navy. Thank you for all that you do!

Nick was awesome and so was Justin. Very easy; used Priceline got a great deal on weekend rental while my regular car was in the shop. I’ll use them again!

Staff are always quick and efficient. We rent there two or three times a year and there’s never been an issue. Very rare in today’s market.

We rented from Hertz June 27th to the 28th. after dropping off the vehicle and then a few days later we received over a $2000.00 invoice from them. On the invoice it showed that the vehicle was driven to Atlanta. NEVER BEEN TO ATLANTA. The total amount of miles we used the vehicle for was 56. Nashville airport to Franklin.
This Hertz is a total scam and i am calling this complete fraud on their part. We believe someone in the Hertz location used the vehicle or they rented it out to another person.
To say the least this has caused over 2 hours of our time to fix. We will never use Hertz again. Don't believe this post, take a look at their other revies.

Incredible service by humans at locations. customer service phone number not helpful. Location being closed for early drop off also not ideal

They make it difficult to cancel a reservation so that they can charge you for it. They also do not pick up when you call

When another customer came in to complain that the car he had just been given smelled like weed and cigarette smoke, that should have been my first sign. Reserved an economy car online for $287, and upon arrival to the location, they tried to upcharge me to $422 because they said they were low in stock. $422 for an Altima is insane. It’s a very basic customer service concept that you honor the customer’s reservation. I typically book through National, where I have never once had an issue, and decided to give Hertz a try. Needless to say, I am now on my way to National, where I know my reservation will be honored. Avoid this location. You will have a much better and more professional experience at National.

They don’t pick up the phone when you call and your car is only ready the day off. You won’t be able to pick it up 24hrs prior even with prepaid because they manage their business poorly. Better chances at Enterprise or other car rental service.

Hertz tried to use previously taken pictures that did not reflect scratches on the tailgate. Gave me weekly rate even though I only needed it for a few days. Told me that when I bring it back early they will prorate the days used. When I brought it back, they tried to charge me the full weekly rate. When I argued it, the manager was completely rude and tried to shut me down. No class and bad customer service. Do yourself a favor and use a different rental company.

Picked up my car Thursday, the car smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. I called and asked for a different car, was told there were none sorry (5 min before they closed), then tried again the next morning, same response. No offer of any type of solution, no recommendation of calling another location. Car needed vacuumed, windows had smoke on them…

On January 27,2025 my personal vehicle broke down. The parts weren’t arriving until late that week and I needed to get home. I made a reservation for a rental at this location for 5:00pm. I got to the place to only be told with aggression that I couldn’t rent there. I asked why? The young girl said that since I’m using a debit card the company takes precautions because I may have just opened a bank account and may not have the $500 to hold it. I said “Excuse me?”. I didn’t like her approach as she went on telling me (while texting someone) that the reservation had to be made 24 hours in advance. I asked to speak with a manager and she handed me a card. I called the manager right away. In mid sentence the manager says “O I think I know you… you’re from MEMPHIS aren’t you?”. I replied “ Are you racially profiling me? I am not from Memphis sir, I am just trying to rent a vehicle to get home!”. He tells me about the 24 hour rule. Immediately after hanging up with him I made a reservation for a hotel (I was stuck in Franklin being racially profiled) and another reservation for a HERTZ RENTAL CAR as this was the only one within distance of one of my stores I manage in Franklin. I couldn’t believe this but I acknowledged their rules and set one up for the following day. I booked an ECONOMY MANAGERS SPECIAL. Next day at 9:00 am…another employee from this location called me and said “ Ma’am the only cars we have for the MANAGERS SPECIAL are big big working pickup trucks and you have to have a CREDIT CARD for that rental. Being that you don’t have a CREDIT CARD we don’t have anything here for you to rent. Besides your reservation was booked at 5:11pm and we close at 5:00 so none of this would have worked.”.
I am very very disappointed in the customer service as all of this big energy everyone has with such a small issue derived from the young girl at the front desk with all that mouth running 100mph. Second I rent from Hertz all the time, spent thousands with this company over 26 years! Never had an issue with my CREDIT CARDS or now DEBIT CARDS. I never had an issue with $500 deposit… whatever a deposit is it will be paid. If the staff had of acted calmly…remember customers first because reviews, complaints and lawsuits matter. This is business never take it personal. For the manager to pick up I must of been from Memphis was deplorable and sickening to my stomach as if that’s where all African Americans are from. They all could have explained the rules made arrangement for next day pick up and guided me through but instead they chose to fight. Welp it starts here. One of many reviews as I was racially profiled and treated unfairly. Btw… I’m from Chicago.

I was never told that I needed to fill the car back up. The rental was done through insurance. I was charged $126 for gas on a car that only takes $40 to fill up. When I called the location the lady says there is nothing she can do. Its impossible to get anyone on the phone at the corporate for customer service. I usually rent with Enterprise but this was who the insurance company went through.

Overall positive experience. The staff was friendly. The car was nice and ready when I arrived. Just hard to get a hold of someone on the phone. Hertz offers a 30-minute grace period before you’re charged an additional day. I dropped the car off 30 minutes late but the office was closed when I dropped the car. I got ahold of them a couple of hours before they closed and the agent said they would adjust it for me when they came back the next day but never did, so I had to reach out to Hertz customer support as I couldn’t get anyone from this location on the phone.

Worst rental car experience ever. 2-3 weeks of the month I use rental cars for work. This is the worst rental car location I’ve ever come across regardless of brand. I showed up 35 minutes late for a 12pm reservation and it took them 25 minutes to prepare a car that should have been ready at noon. They said they were short-staffed, but everyone was standing around. Then after getting the car an employee left her phone in it! They had the nerve to ask me to bring it back and only offered to fill up my gas tank when I returned the car. Unbelievably poor service. So bad that I will never use any Hertz car again.
