I dread shopping here. The staff is always frantic, inpatient, and impolite. The clothes are mediocre when it comes to wear. I'm always surprised by what they'll put out. They also don't thoroughly explain the buying process. The racks are all too close together and crowded which makes it hard to shop. The organization is also bizarre. I found 12 month girls clothes in 3 o4 4 different places, even though they were the same types of clothes: pants, pjs, tops, and coats. At the end of the day, I prefer to donate my clothes and shop elsewhere.

Fabulous selection! Organized and clean! Great spot for 3T clothes that I can’t seem to find at any other location!

I had a great experience at Once Upon a Child. I found the store to be incredibly well stocked and well organized. I found multiple items for my boys -- and left plenty on the shelf that I would have otherwise purchased but didn't need. Most of the clothing was in very good condition and I noticed that a few items that were more worn were priced accordingly. The employees were pleasant and mostly left customers alone, but I felt they would have helped if I needed anything. The store was bright and airy, and even smelled like Christmas! They had just put out their Christmas clothing so perhaps that's why, but it was a nice touch at a consignment store. The store is a bit of a drive from my house but I'm sure I'll stop in when I'm in the area.

Sold a bin of clothes and toys yesterday and was impressed with the check in/out process and the friendliness of the staff member who helped me. They took most of my items. Honestly, they don't pay that much, but I mostly wanted my items to get in other parents hands and score maybe $20. They paid me $33 and I found a Hanna Andersson toddler jacket for only $8! Some items are quite overpriced (Garanimals, Cat & Jack, Old Navy, like $2.50 for an item that's $4 brand new), but every time I go I usually find a higher end item for less than $9. It just takes a lot of time to search through the clothes and inspect each item. Overall, I'd recommend both buying and selling but allow extra time for both!

Walked in today for the first time and was disappointed by the organization of the store. It was hard to find things for my baby in the size I needed. It wasn’t all consolidated but was spread out between rows.

Visited today for the first time and got some amazing steals for my newborn son! Will recommend for all of my new mama friends to come here. Staff was also extremely sweet!

I gave some item to the store and could not go to store to collect cash on the day I said I will go. Store employee decided to go for store credit despite that I told her that I will prefer cash. Now, next day when I am at store, store employees can’t give me store credit and ask me to trust them that their “system” knows that I have store credit. Store does not have a way to convert store credit to cash.Per employee store is “paperless” so they don’t keep any receipts of store credit and since it’s paperless they don’t send email - if this makes sense then please enlighten me but this blows my mind. All I get at the end is a hand written note that I have $xx as store credit despite of saying that I prefer cash.==== commenting further on store response====Store owner comment is factually incorrect. I received 1 call on 08/28 3:09 pm and I said that I will come at 4 pm but something came up from office and couldn’t go.I can to store on 08/29 and you made the decision to give me store credit. You never told me on 08/28th that if I don’t show up then you will give store credit. Please state facts correctly.

Prices have gotten entirely too expensive for a consignment store. Some items are only $2 cheaper than new in store.

I have been a mom for nearly 18 years - and my motherhood to six (6!) children has been earned via multiple formats (bio mom, adoptive mom, foster mom!) I have always been uber (obsessively) picky about what and how my kids are dressed, as I take great pride in their appearance. I love a bargain as much as anyone but I've rarely - if ever - shopped kids consignment because I take advantage of seasonal sales and reward programs regularly. I figured if I can buy new at 50%+ off, it isn't worth it. I always avoid 'fast fashion' brands, and I am meticulous about laundry and clothing care to ensure the investment that I do make into more expensive children's clothing holds its value. When my kids outgrow our clothes, they remain in pristine condition, *especially* during the earlier years. On a whim, I stopped into a BUMC church consignment sale last week, had a lot a fun rummaging. I'd found a few items that got me curious about what I might find at the Once Upon a Child in our area. I have known of this store forever, but I had never been inside. I'm SO GLAD I ignored the negative reviews here and gave it a try. I stopped in today, and my immediate impression was very positive - frankly, based on the feedback here, I was shocked! The store was bright, organized, smelled (yes, smelled) deliciously like cinnamon, and the staff greeted me pleasantly. I was offered help repeatedly as I spent 2+ hours shopping up and down the racks of size 2t through 4t boys. Sure, I found clothing that with more wear and tear than I personally would have purchased, but I also found a sizable mountain worth of items that I'd consider excellent finds. At one point, I had to sprawl across the floor to make piles and ensure I didn't duplicate (or over purchase) in one season's size. The store owner introduced herself, laughed with me about my volume and approach, and was just extremely pleasant. I left the store having purchased more than 50 items - my total bill? Under $250. I actually apologized to the store owner, because I felt like I was stealing! My entire lot was Crewcuts, Janie & Jack, Gap, and boutique brands I'm familiar with from shopping at Nordstrom (like Harley, Joules, Andy + Evan). Everything was in excellent condition. Dare I say, I had a blast? I'll give the store a few weeks to replenish their 'hidden-gem' boy clothes, since I feel like I just cleared out the racks of their very best goods, but I will most definitely be back! Ignore the negative reviews here- what you put out energy wise, comes back to you. I found no issue with this store or its staff - it was WELL WORTH the stop!

Drove an hour here to drop off 3 paper bags of clothes and was told I have a 1 bag per day limit. However, if I were to get a big laundry basket and put all of my stuff in there, it would have been accepted (per the employee). The employee that told me this was not very friendly or helpful. They did not seem at all understanding about the fact that we drove there with our infant and could not exchange our items (when on the website there is no such policy listed). I understand store policies but it’s pretty annoying when they’ll accept the same amount of items just in a different container.

If I could give a 0 stars I would very rude and unprofessional. When I dropped my items off yesterday I told the lady that was going to give me my offer the clothes had barely been worn if they were they were worn once. They took all my name brand and gave a very low offer. When I confronted them they said it was nothing they could do. I ended up buying my items back. I do not recommend and wouldn't return!

I was disappointed to find out that the coupons I receive via text from my old store do not carry over to other stores. My birthday discount was not good. The lady did however view my coupon and give me half of the coupon value. That made me happier. I appreciate that. The store is a bit small compared to the stores in NY. I will shop here again because she was wonderful!

I enjoy reselling items my daughters have outgrown here. The registration process is simple. You can drop off your items, and come back once you receive their notification text.

Every time I've ever been here and the owner is there she absolutely ruins the experience. She is constantly talking badly (and loudly) about customers and employees and what sounds like family. She is incredibly rude to her staff it has made me leave the store several times. I absolutely am blown away that a store owner thinks this is ok...it is incredibly frustrating and just gross. The items are over priced and a lot of things are dirty. You have to spend hours in there to dig to find anything good. It's just not worth it to sit in there and have to also listen to the owner talk.

Good size, nice inventory but the owner came across as snobbish and treated me rudely. I hope she was just having a bad day but I had driven quite far to shop there. I was a bit unwell/disheveled so I gathered that it is preferred you to be a certain class and type of person to shop there which I think is sad considering it is consignment items.
