“Not too long ago we took in a tiny orange tabby who had been left at a neighbor’s doorstep. Little Jack was only about 5 weeks old and seemed pretty puny. Being new to the area (and already having 5 cats) we figured, “ What’s one more mouth to feed?” and took him in. We took him to Robinson Animal Hospital to get checked out and he was found to have Feline Leukemia, which he would probably have not survived. Dr. Fox gave me the sad news, crying the whole time, and put the poor thing down for us. She cried and cried with me during the process and let me hold him. I have never met another vet break down in tears at having to put an animal to sleep! This compassion shown to us (who only had Jack for 3 days) has determined that this is our vet for our other 5!!”

“KVH has been caring for our furry babies for 20+ years, recently was no different, Our beloved Mojo started having seizures back in May of 2025, which sadly left him blind, the doctors worked their magic, started him on medication, explained all we needed to know in going forward which began lots of changes with Mojo including me sleeping on the floor with Mojo because he could no longer get on the bed with me.
We were so proud of Mojo in his ability to navigate through the house and outside, however there were many challenges but he was such a fighter.
I spent a lot of time on the phone with Sheri (front desk) as well as the doctors, I was always given great advice, as well as several trips to see the doctors, Mojo was very challenging, he like so many did not enjoy going to the vet, again, the doctors and staff gave him great care.
Sadly Mojo's health worsened in Oct 2025, we had to make the decision that no pet owner wants to make, and say goodbye to our beloved Mojo he was 13 years old.
I want to personally thank: (everyone at KVH was/is fantastic, these are the staff members that cared for mojo in his last few months)

“Love this vet office and everyone who works here. I have been bringing our pets here ever since we moved here 7 years ago. The doctors and techs are knowledgeable, friendly, and really care about your pets. The office staff are always friendly when coming and going. Boone and Maple love them!”

“I have a cat with chronic urinary issues and they always take good care of him. I've never had an issue getting a same day appointment which is huge for us since his issues are often suddenly emergent. When we do go, the veterinarian sees us within a few minutes of arrival. They really listen and take into consideration the owner's judgment and the animal's medical history. We commute almost 40 minutes to come here from Johnson City and its well worth it. Their pricing is reasonable and they accept care credit which often offers no interest financing for more expensive bills which is another big plus.”

“Been going here with my two dogs, a Field Spaniel and Border Collie mix for six plus years. During this time span have dealt with normal annual visits and more emergency type situations. I have found the office staff, techs and doctors to be outstanding. In particular I want to praise Dr. Campbell. Both my dogs detest going to the vet in general, but they love her. Further, she abides all my questions with great patience and her explanations are always clear. She never pulls the "I'm the doctor and you're not routine" I've experienced with other vets. Simply, she's the best and I could not be happier that my dogs are in her care.”

I trust my animals with them and have always received top-notch care from them. I have several cats and will be rescuing another stray cat next week that I have built trust with. The staff here know me by name and know my pets by name. I have never had a bad experience with these fine folks and the care my pets receive is always top-notch. “I have been here several times with my cats, and each time, my total comes up to half of what I thought it would be. I receive the absolute best care, with updates on my babies each step of the way. I love that they check with you before doing any procedure or treatment and get approval on the costs. Even if there is a bit of a wait, it is worth it to be able to be seen when you need to without an appointment. The staff is so kind and knowledgeable. I have zero complaints about them! If you're looking for a vet, this is the place to go, no questions asked!!”

“I can not say enough about the staff who holds the fort down in the front, while the vets and their techs holds us together in the back. Their jobs are not easy, and they all work long hours, and are exhausted at the end of the day. In spite of everything they handle from day to day, I have always been greeted with a smile. This staff has grieved with me and laughed with me. And I know for sure when I leave from there, my babies have received the best of the best of care!!! “I had never used this veterinary clinic before the other day and had always used the Fort Henry hospital. My dog started having seizures and I contacted my previous veterinary hospital to let them know I was on the way with an emergency and they blew me off saying that they didnt take walk ins after 11:00 and couldn't be bothered to look at my little buddy who looked like he was dying in my passenger seat. I contacted Colonial Heights animal hospital and without any hesitation they told me to get him in and they would do everything they could to get him back on track. As soon as I got to the colonial heights I noticed the atmosphere was friendlier than Fort Henry and they took extra special care of my little buddy and treated him with dignity and respect. They didn't even over charge! I spent 2x less here on an emergency visit than I would have spent on a normal visit to Fort Henry and with BETTER results. I will absolutely be using this hospital as my main veterinary for all of my animals from here on. If I could give a higher rating just on the simple fact that they took my boy when I was in desperate need then I would. 1000/5 stars!”

“I called for an appt they told me what they had, we went in for the appt Dr. Lamons told me that without any testing she was not able to tell me what was best for our Shelby, however she did say what she could do and told us to think about it and let her know what we wanted to do. Before too much time could go by our Shelby got very sick today 11/14/2025 my family has grieved Shelby dying all day the love and compassion these people showed us was nothing short of how they would want their family to be taken care of… they made my family keychains, they had a very well constructed box to put our Shelby in and wrapped her so sweet. They gave us the the best care today they was honest, compassionate and so loving! The staff was too! Our nurse Billie she was amazing, kind and gentle no rushing at all the fee was fair. We’ll be going to take Sadie out an other Yorkie there. As far as money I can’t tell you about much but as for the caring in that establishment I can tell you you can’t beat them! 5 out of 5!”

“I brought my cat to Airport Pet Emergency Clinic due to a urinary obstruction that developed after sedation at a general practice. Dr. Dolan was truly outstanding.

He clearly explained two treatment options and thoughtfully considered that my cat is older and had been recently sedated. I initially chose the more conservative option, but when my cat needed to return for catheterization under sedation, Dr. Dolan was excellent during both procedures. His communication was clear, calm, and honest, and I genuinely felt that his recommendations were centered on my cat’s welfare.

After stabilization, my cat—while catheterized—was transferred to a 24-hour emergency clinic in Asheville, where he was hospitalized for three days. I’m incredibly grateful to this practice for stabilizing him and setting him up for the care he needed next.

For an emergency hospital, the cost was also very reasonable. I sincerely hope I won’t need emergency services again, but if I do, I would absolutely return here.”
