I would advise anyone who rents a moving truck with budget to either do it locally only or thoroughly inspect your truck and question everything about the product because they will rent you ANYTHING , they lie about the maintenance of the truck, they don’t keep records of oil changes , or proper condition of tires, the tire sensors may be off or malfunctioning, the headlights may be out once the sun sets lol I mean they are horrid…be very careful

I've been a customer of this Budget franchise twice. The first time, about ten years ago, they quoted me a price on the phone that included mileage at no additional cost. Then they charged me $600 more for mileage after assuring me there would be no charge for mileage. The perky lady on the phone and the small print in the contract told ENTIRELY DIFFERENT STORIES. The second time -- today 3/1/21 -- I brought a rental in to extend usage for a few more days while my truck gets repaired. They had been charging me $40/day -- fair enough -- but suddenly they raised the rate to $120/day for the next 5 days. So I dropped the vehicle off and went to Enterprise. This may not be TECHNICALLY dishonest, but it reflects a pattern of what we attorneys call SHARP DEALING -- on the very edge of dishonesty -- that seems to characterize this Budget franchise. It is owned by a group called The Memphis Landsmen. Don't do business with this company. They are out to deceive you and empty your wallet -- by trickery.

Terrible‼️‼️‼️‼️ I prepaid my full size vehicle weeks before time ($373 for Sunday-Tues) . So when I returned the vehicle back on full tank of gas &&clean inside and out. I’m thinking its was over I got my deposit back. A WEEK LATER THEY TOOK 997$ out my account right when it’s bills due‼️ I’ve been calling daily & all the Hispanic person over the phone can tell me is wait til Tuesday (tomorrow) that’s the last day of processing or whatever because the person I returned the vehicle to (AT THE AIRWAYS LOCATION MEMPHIS) did NOT CHECK IT IN OR WHATEVER THEY SUPPOSED TO DO. I don't understand this && will never Rent from them again. I shouldnt Have to be one being punished. A whole freaking 1,000 I am beyond pissed?‼️

I was scheduled to drop my vehicle off at this location and no one answered the phone and the gate was locked. I waited over 40 minutes and no response and no one in customer service could assist me. This is the worst experience I have ever had with budget and I frequently rent cars from this company. NEVER again!

UPDATE: We are sitting at a beautiful dinner and get a call from Memphis Budget. Of course we think they are calling to apologize for the appalling service we received. Instead it's a panicked Budget employee. They needed to know if we had a white or red car. They had given the wrong keys to someone and can't find the car. We told them we have a huge red truck. They so oh and hung up. One of our worst rental experiences. We are Budget Fastbreak members. We went to the booth in garage and there were 4 people sitting in the booth talking and staying warm (it was a cold afternoon). The lady working the booth said she didn't have it and we'd have to go back upstairs to the counter. We reiterated we were Fastbreak and she said no your not you have to go to counter. I stayed in the cold with the luggage while my husband went to counter. They tried to send him back to booth saying she was only working 5 more minutes. After he said no they finally helped him but he still had to return to booth to get the keys. We rented a full size car and they gave us an oversized pickup that was raised off the ground and you have to climb up into. When we said we need a car. They said too bad it's that or nothing. Then we had to wait 10 minutes for someone to come let us out (it was one of the guys from the booth visiting). Needless to say I will not be renting from Budget again.

They didn't have the vehicle we rented available. They only wanted to give us $50 credit for the inconvenience and still never did. We had to call around talking to person after person. In the ene we gave up. We rented a 15 passengers had to take a 12. It was a horrible experience.

They left us hanging. We reserved a car. When we arrived we walked like miles to get to the rental booth and were told there were no cars. So we had to scramble back to the airport take Lyft to hotel. Needless to say we won’t ever use Budget.

Budget car rentals scored well as far as savings goes, they will work with you, but their criteria, as far as your acceptable billing is a little far fetched for me to give high marks or a recommendation for.

I returned to Memphis from a 10 hour drive very exhausted. I accidentally left my purse on the back seat. I returned within 30 minutes, even calling while in route. I got back and the employee Acacia gave me my purse without asking color or kind. I immediately checked my wallet and my cash was gone. 3 employees and no one was concerned that my cash was missing. She tried to tell me to check the vehicle. Why? My cash was in my wallet. No customer service skills or professionalism. Even the manager never came to show any interest in trying to find out what happened.

I reserved a car for 4-13-19 my plane was late arriving and there was no one at your airport office. What sort of international airport closes and strands passengers w/o a reserved car? I will never use your company again.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!! I would never reccomend them. I called and made a reservation over the phone. Knowing I was wanting to book with a debit card I asked several times and the booking agent assured me I could as well as the location having a 7 seater SUV that I needed. After ending the call I just so happened to check my account and seen that the cost has already been charged to my account. Not too much of a big deal, but okay. As I arrive to said location and not only did they not have my reservation, but they don't rent out vehicles of that capacity, AND won't accept debit cards. Now as the rental agent in office is apologizing to me and letting me know I spoke to corporate and that their location is a franchise, she gives a customer service number that would refund me my money. I don't bother leaving the store until this issue is resolved to avoid deeper annoyance. Call CS and they are apologetic as well, so I ask what will be done because I have a family funeral to be at within a days time. I also bring to the CS rep's attention that information from corporate needs to be up to date as well as accurate because my situation was completely unacceptable. I made her aware that I'm negative (not in the negative) $333.13, nor do I have a vehicle, plus I will have to get an SUV from an alternate rental company and be out more money then originated. The CS rep. apologizes once again and says she can refund me, but it will take 3 to 5 business days even though it took them only a couple of minutes AND.......(wait for it.....it gets good).......she can NOT send me the entire $333.13 at once. She has to send it in pieces. I just knew I was getting pranked, especially at a time when I'm grieving the loss of a loved one. All I can say is never again. As of today I am deeply appalled by this company.
