Worst experience ever!I’m so sad to say i wasn’t even able to experience it with my 4yr old who absolutely Loves fire trucks.I called the day before Feb 13to make sure they would be open, because the 14th Valentine’s Day is my son’s birthday. We payed for 2hr of parking, walked 2blocks. Got there at 11am just to find a note on the door saying that they’re having a staff meeting and would open back at 12noon. So my son and i waited for an hour outside of the door in the cold, 12 rolls around still nothing, 12:10 nothing at all, all while calling and knocking on the door. Then being that i have a 4yr old he had to potty…….by now its 12:20. So basically we wasted our time sitting in front of the museum in the cold. I completely understand having meetings, i own a business, but in the middle of a work week where online and over the phone you say you’re open? At least have someone still answering the phone to let the public know what’s going on. I’m not sure how many staff they have but it’s “The Fire Museum of MEMPHIS” i guess i just expected more than a written note on the door. I’m just extremely frustrated because he’s been talking about this for 2weeks straight just to be locked out on his birthday.

Hours were wrong on Google Maps. It was a huge let down, because we were really excited about it. You guys need to post accurate hours FOR THE MUSEUM, NOT THE GIFT SHOP. No one cares about your gift shop if they can't have a look around the museum!

I enjoyed about two hours at the Fire Museum, viewing fire trucks, viewing photographs of the fire department's largest incidents, seeing memorabilia and fire equipment.I lucked out and one of your volunteers kicked off the "fire" video. Super interesting but honestly, a quick hit with a fire extinguisher would have saved a lot of drama. It's not the largest fire museum I've been to - the Hall of Flame in Tempe probably - but it's interesting and there is much to see and experience here. Well worth the time. If you can visit on a weekend when there aren't busloads of kids, that would be ideal.[Review 19848 overall - round number 400 in Tennessee - 821 of 2023.]

The Fire Museum of Memphis is a true gem in the city. As I walked through the exhibits, I was struck by the dedication and bravery of the men and women who have served as firefighters throughout the years. The museum does an excellent job of showcasing the rich history of the firefighting profession and the impact it has had on the Memphis community. From the vintage fire trucks andequipment on display, to the interactive exhibits and hands-on activities, the museum offers something for everyone to enjoy. I was particularly impressed by the section dedicated to the Memphis firefighting heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. It was a sobering reminder of the danger that firefighters face every day, and of the debt of gratitude we owe to those who put their lives on the line to protect us.The Fire Museum of Memphis is not just a place to learn about the past, it's also a place to inspire future generations. The museum provides educational programs for children and youth, teaching them about fire safety and the importance of community service.Visiting the Fire Museum of Memphis is an experience that I would highly recommend to anyone. It's a great way to learn about the history of the firefighting profession, to appreciate the sacrifices that have been made, and to be inspired to make a difference in our own communities.

Very interesting museum, lots of fire department equipment and accessories, very well prepared. With a special focus also on children.A heat chamber where you can feel the temperature of a fire. The information about fire safety for the home is also impressive.

It says open until 4:30 on 12/30 when we visited and we arrived at 2:40 but it was closed and no one answered on the phone. I purchased the family pack with $34 for admission but could not use it because it was closed. I contacted to the merchant via email and phone for refund but they still not answered and even charged the fee.

This was a fun little museum that bordered on being excellent. There is a lot to see that is crammed into a small museum (though spread out over two buildings) and it has a nice blend of history, memorabilia, and hands-on activities for kids. There were some areas that were clearly not being used or activated (several of the kid areas turned off, no tours being given, no dog or firefighter walking around, etc.) that really would have made this spot a must-see. As it was, the fire truck driving simulator and the fireman pole were both huge hits. I personally liked seeing the different gear and vehicles used throughout the history of fighting fires .You will likely spend 1-2 hours here depending on how quickly you move... so not a large museum, but I believe it is worth seeing.
