The Hampton Inn Memphis-Southwind receives mixed reviews from guests. Many describe an excellent experience, noting the hotel is very clean, with great service and a good, quiet location close to restaurants and shopping. The staff is frequently praised as very friendly. Rooms are described as decent, spotless, and well-appointed with comfortable bedding, though some note a lack of microwaves. The complimentary breakfast and amenities like the pool are well-regarded. However, some guests report significant problems. Concerns include malfunctioning room air conditioning, security locks on the front gate requiring use of a one-way entrance, and housekeeping issues such as arriving to a dirty room with a gross bathroom. While staff, including the front desk and executive housekeeper, are often highlighted for their caring and excellent service in addressing concerns, the consistency of the stay experience varies.
I've never been to a hotel that has security locks on the front entrance gate and forces you to go around to a one-way entrance that only allows entry and exit.
The AC in the room didn't work, so I was miserable the whole night. The pillows were like sleeping on fitted sheets; definitely not Hilton quality.

Very friendly staff. The room was decent and there were a few updates...downside is there are no microwaves in the rooms. That was disappointing.
