“Went to leave my house today & realized I wasn't going anywhere because my tire was totally flat. When tow driver arrived, he pointed out the tire & said I had a blowout. He was able to get car to Gateway Tire on Poplar (across from East High school) in time for salesperson Christian Castro to order me a tire. (It's Thanksgiving eve & my tire size is not one they normally carry in the store, so they have to order it.) I didn't mind waiting because they almost always have popcorn for you to enjoy while you wait. There's also a computer station so you can work or recharge your devices while you wait. I did not price shop or compare prices. When it's an older car & the tire is now an uncommon size which is not carried in regular stock in most places, it's hard to compare prices. But I appreciate the fact that Christian was able to look me up in his computer to see what tires I got last time. (I only got two new tires last time & now a single. I decided to hold off on a second tire today.) Tow driver knew of places that would sell me a used tire for $50 or $60. But as a senior female I am not comfortable putting used tires on my car. For me it would be penny wise & pound foolish.”

“I see a lot of really bad reviews, i dunno if it's bad luck or what... these guys work hard, they're as friendly as you could hope for guys with corporate breathing down their necks, and have done good work for me every time. Got my oil changed last week, fast and right. Sent my son there this morning, he had 1 bald tire and his car was shaking bad. They basically saved the day, instead of taking advantage like some places would when they see a woman or a young person. Used to go to gateway 10 years ago, had a bad experience and been at this Walmart ever since.”
“I'm surprised at the reviews. They told me it would be a 2.5 hour wait. We were visiting someone at the hospital across the street so went back there to wait, but I took the car, so they called me less than an hour later and said they were ready. I went back over. The guys were all working the whole time (at some garages, like PepBoys, they're just standing around while one works). I stood on the other side of the wall in the work area so I could ask questions, which annoys some mechanics, but these guys weren't annoyed.They only charged $10 to plug our tire, whereas I'd gone to Firestone near there who told me I HAD to have a new tire for no less than $150, so Walmart saved me $140.”

“Was thoroughly impressed with staff's knowledge and concern. Have custom wheels that require particular machinery to replace. This store while brand new was not given the proper machinery to handle the job, however they still went above and beyond and got the job done. Awesome job and quick but do recommend an appointment as it was monday at 8 am and while there 6 or 7 walk-ins arrived and the wait time increased to over 2 hours.”
