The Hampton Inn Nashville/Vanderbilt is in a very convenient location, with a two block walk to Vanderbilt University. There are restaurants directly behind the hotel serving everything from tacos, barbecue, vegetarian and healthy food choices, plus fine dining and live music. Many guests found it a nice place and enjoyed the staff, who were professional and helpful. However, some experiences were not up to expectations. Multiple guests warn of substantial extra costs for required parking, which significantly increased the total price of the stay. There were also reports of vehicles being broken into in the parking area. While some staff were very helpful, one desk clerk was noted as being rude to a guest. The surprise additional expenses for taxes and parking were a frequent point of annoyance.
