7140 E Lamar Alexander Pkwy, TownsendThe wife and I decided to take an afternoon drive along the foothills parkway, and then spend our anniversary evening at Dancing Bear. This was our first experience at the venue, and it did not disappoint. We arrived about an hour early for our reservation, we grabbed a few adult beverages at the bar before dinner and soaked in the atmosphere. We enjoyed a great dinner and our server Chance was excellent throughout the experience. After dinner, we moved to the fire pit area where there is a complimentary s'mores bar and ambiance lighting. This may not be an everyday night out for dinner but this is definitely on our radar for future visits with family & visitors in our home and special occasions. Thank you Dancing Bear for a great evening.

The Abbey at the Heartland Little River Capel
7765 River Rd, TownsendWas looking for places in the area and saw this was highly rated. We stopped in before going to Cades Cove and tried their pizzas. I got their gluten free pizza and a family member a regular pizza and it was pretty good! We both tried the (I think) veggie pizza. I was surprised to find that the up charge for gluten free was only $.50 (that’s AMAZING by the way). We were able to sit inside and have a view of the river. While eating, we got to watch people tube down the river. I give 4/5 stars for service because we were confused about drinks, the seating arrangement, and whether we had to clear the table when we were done eating - no one really explained it to us. You order, they give you your cup and a buzzer and then you go find somewhere to sit. The staff was super friendly and we did not have to wait long for food. Will definitely visit again!
