“Large variety of items at great prices. Some items, especially certain pet products aren't much different price than Walmart or Target, however I was able to get my Large dog a Halloween costume for $4.99. It just depends on what it is.
This IS THE BEST PLACE to buy books for yourself or gifts. All genres of them from religious to cookbooks, kids, different interests, art, music, history, etc. It is unusual if I don't buy at least 1 or 2 books every time I visit. Also great prices on whatever holiday it happens to be at the moment & household items.”
“Still a wonderful place to shop. Their demographic target is definitely the under 24 category and for parents with kids but you can find a low of value in their merchandise. Their fitness equipment section is awesome.”

“Has more of a selection on Gain laundry detergent compared to other local dollar general stores. The only thing that I don't like is it's always cluddered up and have to move products/display stands out of the way to get to what you need”

We recently moved to Newport & as always, when you move into a new place, there’s going to be something you need. So trying to make my trip quick, I run to this DG. I’ve been in many different DG stores before & have even had issues just like everyone else with long lines, unfriendly cashiers, nasty stores, isles so full you couldn’t even get down the isles & no stocked shelves. I assumed this trip would be worse because it looks like a hole in the wall store. Shame on me for assuming! This was the absolute cleanest, best stocked DG Ive ever been in. I couldn’t believe how nice it was. And the cashiers name was Vanessa. She was so sweet & helpful. I got everything I needed & will definitely be going back to that store. I hope when the good stores & employees are praised, they receive acknowledgement from the upper management. This store is no doubt few & far between.”

“Got what I needed quick. 5 people came in while I was checking out and asked to use the bathroom and were denied "because it was broken". My daughter had to go last week after a painful dentist visit and it was "broken" then too. If it was in working order, this would be a 5 star review.”
“I've always liked D.G.. I find the prices there pretty comparable to wal mart. It's definitely a convenient place to run to rather than driving all the way into town and then run into the huge store. You can get in and get out pretty quick. I always find something quirky or unique to buy.”

“This is the only store that i can find the shoestring potato chips that we used to get in a small can. They have them, but they are in blue bags for $1.00 each. And I love the $5.00 off coupon that's on your receipt, to go back on the next Saturday and use it. Saves us some money & is a great place to shop from. 5 stars!!”
“Very nice people here in Tennessee. This store has about anything you could want, plus the prices are fair. It was a little bit crowded but it was also full of end if season merchandise & clearance items.I would go there again if ever in that part of Tennessee. Then again they do have a store every 7 miles in that area.”
