885 Sebesta Road, AngletonWe had a great experience with Oakwood Kennels and Drew. Sending Coco away for training was a very difficult decision for us because she is truly our baby, and being away from her for that amount of time was not easy.
Some of the training methods, particularly the use of an e-collar, were naturally a little intimidating for us at first. Even without us expressing those concerns directly, Drew could tell we were a little uneasy and was very attentive to that. He took the time to explain how and why the collar was being used and even demonstrated the level for us so we could better understand what Coco was experiencing. He consistently made sure we were comfortable with the process and reassured us along the way, which really helped us trust the process.
We were able to visit Coco after the first two weeks and work with her hands-on. It was great to see her progress firsthand and learn how to continue reinforcing her training at home. It also gave us a chance to see how comfortable and happy she was there. Coco clearly had a blast playing and interacting with the other dogs, and you could tell she respected Drew as her trainer while also being comfortable with him and enjoying being around him. That was very reassuring for us to see.
Most importantly, Coco came home well trained, and we can absolutely see the difference. As difficult as it was to have her away from us, the results made the time apart worth it. Drew did a great job helping us understand that training is a process and giving us the confidence to trust it, even when it was difficult for us as owners.
We really appreciate the time, patience, and effort Drew put into Coco and into helping us along the way. We are very pleased with our experience and would definitely recommend Oakwood Kennels. For anyone who may be nervous about sending their dog away for training, our advice would be to trust the process, ask questions, and give it a chance. We are very glad we did.

Over the years, they were always there whenever I had a question or concern about my Rhodesian Ridgeback, Moses. No matter how big or small the question was, I always felt like I could reach out to them and receive thoughtful, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring guidance.
Moses was an absolute dream dog. He was everything I could have ever wanted in a dog—loyal, loving, gentle, incredibly smart, and deeply protective of me and my family. He made me feel safe every single day, and so much of who he was was a testament to where he came from and the care that went into breeding such an incredible dog.
What makes Reb and Pastor Minnie so special is that their relationship with their dogs and families doesn’t end when a puppy goes home. Years later, they still cared, answered my questions, offered guidance, and made me feel like I could always reach out to them. That kind of dedication and genuine love for the dogs they bring into this world is incredibly rare.
I will always be grateful to Reb and Pastor Minnie for giving our family such an extraordinary dog. Moses was truly one of a kind, and having him in our lives was an incredible gift.

Wild West BBQ
1205 East Mulberry Street, AngletonWanted to try a new BBQ place on our way home from out of town. Wild West BBQ doesn't disappoint. I had the BBQ baked potato, all the way. The best potato I have had in Brazoria or Matagorda counties. The BBQ sauce is delicious and so is the sweet tea. The young men at the counter were very polite and used their manners. This will now be a place to revisit. My husband had the 3 meat plate with Mac n cheese. Lastly, we also tried the mozzarella sticks. More cheese than breading and the breading was seasoned well with the perfect crisps.
