Barton Springs is a popular natural spring-fed pool located in Austin, Texas. The water is refreshingly cold, ranging around 68°F (20°C), making it a great place to cool off on hot days. The pool can reach up to 14 feet deep, providing ample space for swimming and enjoying the clear, clean water. Visitors can access the pool area by paying a small fee, which grants them access to amenities such as restrooms, showers, and a diving board. The gated and maintained pool area is a stark contrast to the free-access public river on the other side, which some reviewers warn can be unsafe due to the presence of homeless individuals and potential drug activity. Overall, Barton Springs is widely praised for its beautiful natural setting, with visitors highlighting the enjoyment of "chilling" in the cool waters and the convenience of the on-site facilities. The pool is dog-friendly, and the surrounding area offers playgrounds and picnic spaces, making it a family-friendly destination. While some caution about potential bacteria in the water, most reviewers recommend the experience and express a desire to return with friends and loved ones.
Amazing. Still remember being on both sides- pool and open side.
