Pretty place to enjoy camping within Austin. Also you can get campground reservation the very same day if its a last minute plan. We went almost at the end of Austin's fall season and it was a beautiful view along the river.

Really enjoy the variety of trails and terrain right in our backyard. There is a natural area with a 3 mile trail ideal for families with dogs. There are also some less used trails that hug the lake with some amazing views of Lake Austin and the surrounding area.Dog-friendliness: The main nature trail is a well-known place to bring your friendly dogs.

One of the most incredibly beautiful places in Austin. Honestly, I continue to be amazed at the amount of green spaces and water front parks that we have an Austin. Metropolitan Park is perfect for a day picnic or a night of camping.

I’ve been here multiple times for camping and just to hang out during the day. This park is absolutely incredible. The water is just as cold as Barton Springs and there is tons of space to swim or have a picnic or place and volleyball. It’s also 25 minutes from Austin so it’s a perfect distance to get into nature and get away from the city.

If you can make it by on a week day I recommend doing this for the solitude. It was very quiet, serene, and relaxing for my family to come on a week day after school is back in session. Well maintained space with plenty of shade, adequate restrooms + showers. Bring a picnic. No glass, of course. And make sure your pups are leashed and don't get into the swimming area.

I had a fun time swimming here, water was cool and refreshing. I came on a Wednesday and we got in without a problem, but you do need reservations on the weekend.I did notice a lot of fire ants ! So be careful with your littles, try to put your stuff on a bench table if possible, stuff was crawling on our blanket. Besides that it was nice and shady under the tree, lots of pretty shells to look at!

My favorite park in Austin. They have restrooms, plenty of trash cans, tables, grills, and a little tiny beach/pier. Views are beautiful. I've only been on a weekday and the crowds are pretty thin any of space to have your own picnic area and water area. Weekends are probably a completely different story.Restrooms: Small capacity restrooms that were relatively clean for a park restroom. There are also changing areas. There are portapotties on weekends.Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed but they must be on a leash.Picnic area: There are stone and standard wood picnic tables. A lot of them are in the shade.

My favorite park of all time. It has so many fun things to do like biking, volleyball, and even swimming. I definitely recommend going here at least once because it is worth it.Restrooms: There is 2 restrooms, one for boys and one for girls. It even includes a showerDog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed but they can’t be in the swimming areaPicnic area: There are a bunch of picnics so if you’re tired or want to rest then it’s good

Great place. The water is nice for swimming. The water doesn't get deep right away. Cool under the trees. Best place to go in Texas heat.
