it was such a wonderful area in the past, but now it’s totally ruined with a fence and extremely high prices for a picnic table (45$)

Drove out 30 minutes to come see this park (dogs are allowed) and we thought it was a great time right before it freezes here to go for an adventure. The guy at the front told us the prices have changed and now they only accept reservations on the weekends and this costs $45 and only includes 2 adults but includes the picnic tables. We laughed and drove away. Nobody was there and this is definitely why. This is another unreasonable price hike in Austin and it’s sad to see them stiffing everyday people who want to enjoy the outdoors. We drove to Mansfield Dam where it was $5 entrance. Please be aware of this moving forward and don’t waste a drive! Parks, do better.

I've been visiting my daughter's family between Steiner Ranch and Lakeway for a month. We cross the Colorado River at the dam almost daily. I have wanted to visit the park for a while and finally did today! It was rainy, but there was a beautiful fog bank near the low water bridge. So, I got some good pics! I hope to bring the grandkids back on a pretty day!

I had a great experience. Location is a bit out of the way which was nice. We rented a paddle board from their rental locker. Everything was done through an app then a text confirmation which made everything fairly simple. Not great if you only have cash but we enjoyed it. Expect a bustling atmosphere with lots of fellow paddler, which adds to the excitement! Will definitely be back.

A perfect place to visit on weekdays. I heard from a few people who are regulars at the park that it gets crazy on weekends. The water stays cooler even on a 100+ degree day. So go prepared, especially on a cold day. There are a few picnic tables, but you can also just bring a few chairs or blankets to sit at the bank. The park has boat renting facility, for which you'll need to scan a QR code and send it to the specified number to generate an OTP. I have never availed it, so not sure how good that is. There's also a potter potty, which I haven't used, so cannot comment on the cleanliness. Overall, a serene place definitely worth a visit.

This park has been under construction for 5 years it seems like… the barrels and caution tape are ridiculous. The mural on the out building has been painted over? Why? Get it together!

Hypothesis: because Lake Travis [just across 620] water levels are sooooooo low, people are cramming into lil JHP this season. ??? The parking lot is small, as is the space, but people are parking a mile up the street and on the side of 620. Beware of amateurs! Lol.Still a great space (please see previous review) with ice plunge bath temp waters even with consecutive days of 100°F+; however, not so great when overcrowded. Happy summer!
