I've rented with National in the past and never had an issue. It's been a couple of years since I used their services but I went on a 1 week trip recently and did rent with National using a midsize SUV from a TX airport. Ultimately, the trip was completed successfully with the car we chose but with multiple hiccups along the way.We had a low oil alert come on during our trip and just to be on the safe side, I called National support, explained the issue, and the advised swapping the car out at a nearby Enterprise lot. I was near an airport and they always have better vehicle selections but, in this case, I visited Enterprise. National even mentioned this Enterprise had plenty of vehicles in stock within the size I was looking at. Long story short, this Enterprise lot had two vehicles and neither was of the same vehicle class, they were smaller. The Enterprise rep was nice enough to look at the vehicle history (National rep did not do this) to tell me when the oil was last changed and he reset the alert for me stating it may just be a sensor issue. So, we kept the car.Later in the trip in another state, the alert happened again and I was worried because we were driving quite a bit and didn't want oil issues to become a factor. So, same process, called National and they suggested stopping by the nearby airport for another vehicle. They said they have plenty of vehicles in stock to pick from. Guess what, I got there and they literally had zero vehicles. So I went out of my way again and wasted more time again for nothing.We just took the gamble and kept the car we had as we couldn't keep stopping. We reached our final destination with the alert still going. The issue is just not knowing for certain the oil was changed no matter what the support team says and not knowing how much further I could go before it's a real issue. You can always drive past your oil due date, but I had no way of knowing how long this car had been having that alert pop up which kept us on edge the entire trip.The trip worked out and the car got us through it all, but the service and communication were inaccurate and the support team just didn't seem to care that much about the issues we were having and wasted a lot of our time. They also said for any credit or reimbursement you must contact the National hub you picked the car up from but, if you know rental companies, there is no direct line to reach those hubs at airports, it's just the primary customer support line. So requesting our pick up location to help us was impossible. All in all, it left us feeling uneasy about National support no matter how good the car was in the end.

I reserved a specific type of vehicle and was told by the station manager that I have to wait until something is put on the lot and then pick it up. First of all why should I wait over an hour when I reserved for a specific type of vehicle weeks ago. Next another person came in and didnot have a specific type of reservation and asked for a truck the manager happily got him the best truck on the lot without hesitation, I went ahead and again asked him and he simply said wait until something is put on the lot and then take, why the difference here? I am an executive elite member and national is one of the places where I never expected this to happen. Thanks for making me feel really bad, I was very satisfied with national and their exceptional customer service until this happened.

Ease of check in. Excellent vehicle from executive aisle. Only drawback was I added my son as a driver at the exit booth. I was told he would be free since I am an Emerald member. I was charged $60. Please refund this expense to my credit card.

This was my first time using National and their membership club but everything went as promised- I could just walk in, grab any car in the area, check my ID on the way out, scan the car on the way in and DONE! No lines, no waits. It logged into my account and had receipt emails in my box before my flight took off. I often worry modern tech options just create more opportunity for things to go wrong but everything went right!I wish they had more Toyota options but it was pretty much all Chevy. But they had a variety of sizes/options. I love not having to take a shuttle just to get to the place to get my car and it's pretty well marked and directed. You can ask for a tram ride if you can't do the walking. I would return to National any day.

Was charged mileage when should not been. Cancelled a pickup at different location because the rep at Austin airport told me it was unlimited and I did not need to switch cars at San Antonio airport. Only credited me back portion of the miles. Got to see if hertz will match my status.

I've rented from National multiple times. The cars are clean and trust worthy. The staff has been friendly and helpful especially when I accidentally locked my keys in the car.Sean at AUS airport did an excellent job checking in my car on my last trip to Austin.I did have one incident where I was incorrectly charged for fuel. I phoned in this incident and the manger removed the charge immediately.To improve I would recommend a local number for national members to use. Calling the phone queue is frustrating.

Rented a vehicle for a cross country trip. They made the whole experience super easy! Reserved online, picked up car without issues. Great car, ran great. Turn in at end of trip. No hassles, no worries! Will rent again!

When traveling to Austin I'm always traveling on personal business so I like to use the Emeral Aisle when I can. This last trip though it must have been fairly busy because Emerald Aisle wasn't even an option and the least expensive vehicle was a quad cab pick up truck, which was fine for me.I still haven't worked out how to scan my vehicle so that checkout at the exit gate is smoother using the app, maybe some better instructions on that process in the app would help.

The customer service at National was amazing and efficient. The staff was so friendly and helpful when I needed to switch the card on the account from corporate card to personal. She was mindful of what time my flight was, and found a way to work through the issue quickly. I would recommend National to anyone needing to rent a car from the airport!

Our just completed rental from National at Austin-Bergstrom Airport was excellent in all respects. Our car was so new it had not been entered completely into their system yet, but that was taken care of efficiently and politely at check-out. Turning the car in was equally efficient and courteous. I heartily recommend National Car Rental!

This was my first time using National Emerald rental, and it was great from start to finish!! I felt unsure at first to just walk up to any car in the Emerald aisle and take it, but a National employee came out to help and gave me the assurance of what I had to do. He even asked about my trip and recommended some cars that fit my style and needs. Got in the car, drove to the gate, and off we went. The car was clean, and it felt great! Upon return, I had the same experience, easily found directions, and was taken care of immediately. I literally was done by the time I pulled my luggage from the trunk. Outstanding job from start to finish at the Austin Airport site!!

Picked up my car at Austin Airport. Very large selection, on the busiest day of the year, (Friday before the 4th of July weekend). In and out in 10 Minutes. Thank you for making it easy.

Great experience! Smooth process from pick-up to drop-off. The manager on-site, Jared, was very accommodating during check-out and assisted quickly as well as professionally. Overall, I was very satisfied with the rental experience.

The car was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. No issues with check in or check out. I don't always find it easy to get a car with Android Auto, which is a priority for me when I pick up a rental. fortunately it was in the first car I picked out of the Emerald Club line.
