Shipe Neighborhood Park is a nice and pretty little park with a long history, holding dear memories for many. It features recently refinished tennis and pickleball courts, a basketball court, and a very nice pool. There is a playground for small kids and a playground for kids. Visitors enjoy the nice grass area and shaded areas with picnic tables, ideal for a picnic on a sunny day. People are seen relaxing in the field, throwing a Frisbee, kicking a ball, or playing on the courts. It is generally quiet and nice. Some note that upkeep can be inconsistent, with tall grass at times, but it remains an awesome place for families.
Love Shipe Park. Recently refinished tennis and pickle ball courts, basketball court and pool is very nice. Playground for small kids along with a nice grass area to throw a Frisbee or kick the ball around.

Nice park but the City of Austin need to give more of a priority to the upkeep of the park system. The grass was at least a foot tall. This is to be expected though as they have really slashed the budget for the park system. Let's increase the frequency of maintenance on all the parks not just Zilker.
