This Super 8 by Wyndham Austin Downtown/Capitol location is by far the best of the best out of all the Wyndham hotels in ALL OF TRAVIS COUNTY, and THE CITY OF AUSTIN. The staff is highly respectable, and their management are well experienced, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile for their customers. I surely hope that Wyndham's Corporate Office Executive Members see this. Unlike other Wyndham locations, this one goes above and beyond. I thought the location was good, near the state capitol building. It was quiet rooms were as expected if a Super 8, for the most part it seemed clean.

The old female Indian owner/manager micro-manages her staff and will do anything to keep your $50 deposit. It's like she thinks your deposit is her money and you're taking it away from her. We actually left a day early because of our plans, and let them keep the last day's fee. Upon checkout the manager got the cleaner to check if our room had any damages. They couldn't find any damages to charge us for, the manager was in disbelief and wanted the cleaners to go check again to see if there were any damages so she could keep our $50 deposit. Finally after 30min she RELUCTANTLY gave back our deposit. The whole interaction was very uncomfortable and even her staff was embarrassed by her continuous checking for things to charge us on. It felt like she was trying to scam us. I also paid cash for the deposit to ensure everything is sorted in person on checkout. Really stressful and horrible experience especially when we booked a motel and just wanted to do our own thing but she was always looking over our shoulders to see how she could get as much money out of you as possible. I will not be coming back.

Picked this location based on location to the Moody center. Saw the hottest band in the world. (KISS)I'll admit that when I saw the reviews I was a little concerned but the location to the venue was perfect, the price was good so I pulled the trigger. So glad I did. The price of the lyft was less than 20 bucks to the show. Walked to Dennys across from the Moody center and then had a quick 2 minute walk back to the hotel. Walked to 6th street the next day. Checked in at 3. Super easy and simple. Made my reservations online on their website. Our room was upstairs. The room was clean, bathroom was clean and the bed was clean and free of bugs. The staff was great. No problems at all. If you're going to vist 6th street or see a show, you need to stay at the 8. I'll be back!Nearby activities: Everything, even Walmart is not to far away.Walkability: Walking distance to 6th street and the Moody Center if the wife wasn't in heels.

I find it perplexing that there could possibly be any positive reviews at this property. My daughters booked their stay here for an event in town and facetimed me as soon as they entered the room. The room was beyond filthy, I wouldn't allow them to stay there. I instructed them to call Expedia and go to the front desk. The front desk offered another room that was no better. My daughters had to scramble to book another room at a nearby property costing an additional $700.00 for the 4-night stay. Expedia was amazing and reached out to Super 8 by Wyndham Austin Downtown/Capital several times demanding on our behalf a refund for the $820.00 prepaid stay - which they denied each time stating their cancelation policy. It is absurd a $1.5 Billion dollar company would so brazenly take advantage of my 25-year-old kids.

I was detered by the bad reviews, but picked this location based on price and location. In the end it was fine, room was clean (except for the food I found left in the fridge), and bed was comfortable.

Pretty bad. Paid premium prices (jacked up prices due to concert, and high Austin hotel taxes) for a hotel I would describe as a dump. My room was clean, except for the underwear that a previous guest left hanging in the bathroom (see my picture of them in the photos. Where you'll also see a photo of a cockroach taken by another guest)On the plus side, great location.

Me and the wife stay here for two nights the first night woke up with two bites on my arm I thought it was mosquitoes from the night life but went to so sleep the second night to wake up to my entire body bites up so I checked the bed a discovered bed bugs in the sheets and pillows. And couch that was in there ruined my clothes and my $600 felt cowboy hat That was on the couch. Now I’m waiting on refund but still haven’t heard anything so I suggest if you don t want attacked by bed bugs or have your clothes ruined don’t go here

Bed/sheets were clean, floors were clean, and shower worked fine.. customer service was great and we never actually ran into any problems with our stay.. GREAT location and friendly staff.Nearby activities: Went to a concert at moody center not far of a drive or traffic because of the location

Worst customer support ever! Should be my first stay at an super 8 hotel and I will never book it again. I had a reservation that I couldn‘t cancel or change. I informed the hotel that I will arrive one day later as my flight got cancelled. On the day of my arrival they cancelled my booking as I didn’t show up on the original day (which I already told them one week earlier by phone and via email). They charged me in full although they cancelled it and I had to pay a second hotel. When I tried to contact them, the first person just hang up on me, manager doesn‘t talk to customers and I am waiting for an reply to my emails for over two weeks in total. Please save your money and book something else.

Surprised that you have to leave a $50 deposit, even if you pay by credit card. But never saw it on the bill, though didn't have much confidence of having it returned.The 1st room we were given had no TV signal, no WIFI and the toilet didn't flush. The owners claimed they were fully booked so could not give a different room and they could not fix the toilet. After we continue to complain they managed to magicly find us another room. this one was right next to the road, so was very noisy. But at least we had a working toilet. I imagine some other poor soul got allocated our original room, so I don't think the owners should be in the Motel business.The new room again had no TV signal and no WIFI, so I suspect this was the same for every room. Also new room had fixtures broken, shower rail broken, door security broken and the AC was really noisy.The only good thing about the place is the location. though I would not think this is good enough to offset all the bad things.We used to stay at Super 8 all the time, as they used to all be good quality. Seems they have gone downhill badly. Never stayed at another Super 8 for the rest of our trip due to the experience here and reading reviews on the rest of them. Not sure why they don't make sure the quality of their motels are not kept up to decent standards.

My friend's daughter left her bear blanket here after they checked out. My friend spoke to an Indian concierge this morning who said he would leave a note for the other staff that I would be coming to retrieve the blanket. However, when I arrived at 4 p.m., the Indian concierge this morning failed to leave a note for the rest of the concierge. They refused to release the blanket to me without an email request from my friend. Why didn't the Indian concierge leave a note or tell my friend it needed to be in writing?

Thanks for asking. My stay at this particular site was extremely uncomfortable, frustrating, overpriced & will most likely never return. The air conditioner was not functioning properly. Made a really loud scraping and knocking every couple hrs. and stayed around 78 - 80 degrees overnight for my 5 days/nights during my stay. I mentioned this to the “staff” & got no answers or results. Homeless people wandering around everywhere & did not feel safe or secure with all of the night activity going on. Heard loud noises all night long. Extremely unfriendly staff and charged me $50 late fee to checkout @ 11:15 am! Had several people waiting in line, and therefore put me passed the 11:00 am checkout. Worst experience I’ve ever had in Austin which I frequently visit for business - so I know what else is available & how poorly this facility is operating. I truly hope this snapshot of your business proves you can’t just rely on your location & fail at everything else. Two thumbs down!
