Why we came back?
- Gary the store manager is the best.
- The Alfa closest is an above average product
- Price is alright but Gary works to get you the best price.
- Convenance!!! You have the choice to install yourself or have them come to install. We chose to install ourselves but w/ at home delivery.

Was in store 11/09/2025 with my wife, the amount of times I felt followed by the employees, specifically one. Continuing to ask if we need help constantly. Felt racially profiled for sure and I never feel that. Funny seeing some of the previous reviews of this place experiencing the same thing. Nonetheless ill still come back but with a different approach. The containers we bought have these stickers that are so glued to them that it just ruins the look of the container.

WARNING: Prepare for a Frustrating Checkout Experience!
If you’re planning to shop here, brace yourself for a painfully slow checkout process. This store consistently understaffs registers, leading to long lines. To make matters worse, the clerks are slow and often focus on small talk or upselling, which only adds to the wait time.
It’s clear the staff lacks training in efficiency and customer service. If management spent more time training employees to assist customers throughout the store, there would be less need for upselling at checkout, and the lines would move much faster.
This isn’t just my opinion. Just last week I was standing in another long line at the Arboretum store with only one register open and the person behind me commented the checkout experience is the worst part of shopping at TCS. To top it off, the lone clerk at the register actually left mid-transaction, for 7-minutes, to grab an item she had just sold to the customer. Meanwhile, there were five customers with baskets of merchandise waiting to check-out while four Container Store employees huddled around a closet organizing computer 10-feet away not offering any assistance. Yep, this really happened.
This issue has been ongoing for over a decade, and it’s long overdue for change. It’s time to open more registers and improve the efficiency of the checkout process. After years of disappointing experiences, I’ve decided to either shop online with TCS or give my business to other stores instead. I won’t be returning to this location again.

Never again. Ordered a small elfa shelf system with modular components. I picked it up and found when I brought it home it was missing a piece I'd ordered and couldn't be assembled. Furthermore, the actual product dimensions of the baskets didn't match the description, off by several inches in places. I was done. Brought it back to return. I was informed that the store was aware that my set was incomplete and planned to notify me when the last piece arrived later on, but couldn't fully refund me until it was in store. After some initial hesitation, a way was found to fully refund me. I'm very grateful I don't need to make a 3rd trip to resolve this, but this has been such a waste of time.

Fun and inspiring place! I love a good bin, and they have one for any situation. I needed a very specific bin to put long rolls of leather and other materials into and found exactly what I needed! It even had wheels to make it easier to move. I can't wait to come back for their closet organization. Thanks to the nice staff here, they were so nice.

Our Sales Design Consultant, Amy Godoy was AMAZING! She helped us design our pantry and closet and we could not be happier with the results! She was super helpful and had a lot of great ideas that we didn’t initially think of ourselves, but ended up going with. I would highly recommend Amy and The Container Store to anyone!

I just visited The Container Store here in Austin, TX off of Hwy 183. I’m from out of town, but was in this area on business and had some free time. I’ve always wanted to come here since I’ve passed by here several times going to and from different healthcare facilities. I spent about 40 minutes inside the store walking up and down nearly every isle. I’ve been wanting to organize my bedroom, closet and office area. After about 30 minutes I saw an employee ask another shopper if she needed any help and I realized that none of the employees had spoken to me. No “hello” no “ may I hep you” not even a “ goodbye have a nice day” on my way out. Is this normal here? I’m sorry, but I don’t spend money in places that don’t speak to me and make me feel welcome. I guess I didn’t need that pep talk that I gave myself in my vehicle before coming in telling myself not to go in here and spend a lot of money.
