I've been a customer with UFCU for over a decade with all types of personal, business, and loan accounts. I never thought I'd write a negative review for them. Until very recently I would have had nothing bad to say. But the customer service recently has been horrendous.I've been trying to reach anyone at UFCU on the phone for weeks to dispute a fraudulent $1000 charge and it's been nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone. Last time I called there were 78 -- SEVENTY-EIGHT! -- people on hold in front of me. How is that even possible? That would have been hours on the phone waiting on hold. I finally got in touch with someone today after a 30 minutes wait and apparently I might not be able to get the charge removed because it's supposed to be filed within 60 days (today was 61 days). Absolutely ridiculous considering I've been trying for weeks! One last thing. In all my years with UFCU the customer service has been great and I've always spoken to a local UFCU employee. Today was the first time I spoke to someone in India who was clearly not an employee of UFCU. She was clearly outsourced from a foreign call center and because of the communication/language barrier I had trouble getting across the relevant info that she needed to file the dispute. If this charge does not get permanently reversed I am closing all of my UFCU accounts and taking my business elsewhere. And that's too bad considering I've had a great relationship with UFCU up until this point. This is the type of service I would expect from a big national bank, not my local credit union that I've been with for over a decade. Absolutely unacceptable.

I added my autopay on 7/28. You turned it off.I have never had a late payment & you have never had a new portal. All my bank statements & interest are wrong. You are messing up my statements, transaction history, interest, and creating fake transactions to make bookkeeping & AP/AR look harder than it is.This has never happened in 24 years & is not a realistic thing for someone to worry about. Fix my credit report & bank statements & leave me alone. I don't have time to sue you PLEASE stop.I always have time to sue a VC making fun of me for sexual harassment & I will fight until the very end. Even corporate departments get bullied & I fight for my team. If the team is not competent or unprofessional they need to be fired.

I frequent the downtown branch on 7th and Lavaca. The employees are always courteous and receptive everytime I visit, even that one time I went in and had a little bit of an attitude at first. The people at this branch always make my visits a pleasant experience. And it isn't just one or two, all the employees here provide an excellent customer experience.

The ATM I used was polite and fulfilled my every need with alacrity. The only problem was that it asked me if I wanted to use English or Spanish, and since I identify as an English speaker, I thought the question was a bit unwoke.

The service at that branch is OUTSTANDING and caring! The staff takes the time to explain any tranactions and give guidance for future funds stability. As a senior they also give advice on insurance coverage as well as safety when using your cards to pay any transactions. They are the best for me!!

Enjoyed banking with them from 2012-2018, but as all the other negative reviews point out — their customer service just isn’t what it used to be. You’ll get better rates, service/branch accessibility, and receive better treatment overall at Bank of America or Chase. UFCU has gotten bigger and more mainstream over the years and isn’t much of a credit union that cares about its customers and is above the “big banks” anymore.I just closed my account 9years later after fighting tooth and nail to get not one but only 4 of 7+ $35 overdraft fees refunded across 7+ different transactions (including for one purchase of .99!) all because they took 6+ Days to process my paycheck during the 4th of July weekend and ALL THIS after I had already been through this with them before years ago and completed paperwork DECLINING their little $35 overdraft “service “Any other time I’ve needed help or simply asked for overdraft fees refunds (not many over the past decade) they’ve been so kind and understanding and literally would just give me my money back — no questions asked. It was honestly refreshing. Their loan rates and protections policies were really great but apparently now even during a pandemic they could care less about you

I have a mortgage with UFCU and they have basically made themselves impossible to speak with.If you file a customer support request online, they say that it will take 10 days to get back to you for just the first response. If you ever call...there is no anticipated wait time. I've spent multiple hours waiting only to be told that I'm not 70th in the queue. It's clear that UFCU does not invest in proper customer service technology and this portion of its business is not a priority.I do not recommend working with UFCU.

What a joke of a branch this place claims to be. They don't even accept deposits here. Go ahead and drive several miles to north Austin if you want to do actual banking.
