La Mexicana Market is an authentic Mexican cantina and grocery, and a favorite place for many. It is well-organized and very clean, with floors cleaner than most major supermarkets. The market is well-stocked with a prepared food section, a small bakery, and a carnicería. The meat all looks fresh, the produce is beautifully displayed, and the butcher has great meat at great prices, especially the Carne asada. The food is awesome, including amazing Birria tacos, highly recommended guacamole, fresh made chips, bags of fresh tortilla chips, and fresh salsas. The selection of chips, seasonings, and other Mexican treats is top notch. The staff is pleasant, polite, and easy to get along with. There is plenty of parking up front. Some note that the tamales have too much masa and that the music can sometimes be too loud. Even when busy, service is quick with little wait.

This is one of my favorite places in austin. Amazing authentic Mexican cantina and grocery. I especially like their Birria tacos, their bags of fresh tortilla chips, and their fresh salsas. I go here at least once a week.
