About Cedar Hill State Park

Cedar Hill State Park is a beautiful and huge park located a very close distance from Dallas. It is a nice, clean, and pretty darn big park with a big lake, offering beautiful views. The park features tent camping, RV camping with sites that have full hookups or just water and electric, and primitive camping. Many RV and camping spots have water views. Sites are spacious, though some can be un-level. The park offers pier fishing, a day use area near the lake, and many beautiful trails to walk, including the Penn Farm trail with its old barn, house, and farm machines. It is bike-friendly and dog-friendly, with lots of pets seen. Amenities include a very nice playground, clean restrooms, and a recently renovated, clean picnic area near the lake. The park hosts cute little events every month like guided tours, campfire talks, and holiday events. Park rangers and staff are kind, friendly, and helpful. While there is a daily parking fee, it is a wonderful place for families to unwind, experience wildlife, and enjoy a relaxing weekend close to the city.
