“Best meat market in north Houston if not all of Houston. I drive 40 min one way, out of my way to get our family's protein from Stone Cold Meats. A true artisan butcher, all natural locally sourced, huge selection of cuts, and fantastic customer service. Couldn't recommend enough. Try their tenderloin street taco mix, meat candy, and tomahawks!”

“We always get breakfast tacos from here for our staff and they are always so good! Beef fajita and barbacoa always go hard! Their caldo de res is yum! I’m looking forward to eating it again when the weather cools down!”

“I came for the chicharrónes since my usual spot hadn't made them for today. The people behind the meat counter were friendly and helpful as well as Steve, Carlos and Sara. I was imprimpressed with their friendliness and service. They also cook the chicharrones every day, which is a plus since I like them "fresh", not day old. As an anglo, I was happy that they would let me try and speak my broken Spanish as that is the only way you can learn. I give them 5 stars”

“The most delicious food! One issue I had trouble with was getting someone to speak to on the phone. Based on their business profile, I called 3 times & the call went on for a duration of time. There was no answer & no voicemail during my attempts to have someone answer. The reason for my call was to inquire about a certain pastery. It would have been nice to speak to an employee. I hope in the near future this can be remedied.”

“Sweet bread is good however, it seemed like they made a huge batch of bread and left it there for a long time.I was the only customer at that time and the whole sweet bread sections were filled. Some of the bread felt very tough.Customer service was good. I was greeted and thanked once leaving.”

“If you've never had breakfast here definitely Try It!!?The restaurant has a variety of authentic foods such as menudo, gorditas & tacos. I recommend the gorditas with refried beans, carnitas (pulled pork), queso fresco, lettuce & tomato slice. You can add cooked catus w/egg. It is really good! The salas are delicious & not too spicy. For picky kiddos there's always bean with cheese in a flour tortilla.Menudo is freshly made but I boil it again at home because hominy might be a little hard for my taste. Not sure about the meat market, meat looks good ppl should -look at the expiration dates & appropriate storage as meat NEEDS to be kept properly sealed & frozen immediately. Can't blame this on Michocana or Businesses for improperly storing meats. A lot of people mention the Ladies attitude or rude manner- I didn't get any attitude. You simply must know what you want prior to getting in line you hold up the line by not knowing what you're ordering.”

“This is a nice corner store stocked with canned goods, spices, cleaning products, cooking utensils, obviously meat and they also have a restaurant with delicious food! I practice my Spanish when I order.”

“The meat market has great sale prices if you are looking for a deal on different cuts of meat! The already prepared food in the taqueria is amazing and so worth trying if your are near one, be patient as the store is loud and there can be a language barrier. The pork carnitas are melt in your mouth soft & flavorful, my favorite item to buy by the pound. Nice assortment of fresh & affordable vegetables too! The new location on Jones & 1960 is super clean and nice. I typically go early Saturday or Sunday morning and everything on the prepared food line fresh. I've only had one minor customer service issue but that won't prevent me from giving this location 5 stars.”

“This is the best meat market in the area, the staff is always friendly, the butchers are always giving you the exact meat cuts you ask for, the cooks are amazing! Their food is always fresh and very delicious. Just getting the aromas will make your mouth water. The people stocking are always willing to stop what they are doing just to help you look for what you need and if not they will ask around. I love coming here every other weekend when I get things to bbq.”
