“Place is amazing. I went the other day which was my second time. First time I didn't stop because it looked like someone's house. This time I drove in. Had no idea where I was supposed park or go. I got out of the car and wandered around. Didn't see anyone. There was stuff everywhere. I wandered into a quanset hut shaped greenhouse and was admiring everything when a guy walked up behind me and told me this house is closed. I apologized. He asked me what I was looking for and I told him I was just looking. He pointed down a row of about 7 similar greenhouses and told me which were and which weren't open. I went in the first one and was blown away by the thousands of different succulents. Went into the second one and there are tons of cactus. By the time I came out of the second one I had forgotten which others were open. So I went in two more and peeked in the others. I've never seen anything like it. It would have been a much better shopping experience if things were priced like East Austin Succulents. Nobody wants to ask the price on everything. Some of the larger expensive ones were priced. Open/closed signs on the greenhouses would be helpful. I didn't buy anything today but I'll probably go back.”

“This is one of the best plant shops around here in terms of selection and reasonable prices. The staff often approaches if you seem unsure, and you can tell they genuinely love plants. They’re knowledgeable and always able to answer any questions, which is really helpful. The succulents are cheaper and in better condition than anywhere else, in my opinion. I plan to keep going back. Highly recommended!”

“So glad that I found these wonderful people when researching what kind of bamboo to buy in the Austin area. I purchased mine 2 years ago and they are always extremely helpful and super super fast to respond to emails, even when I am freaking out after hard freezes. Could not recommend buying from here more, it's a support system that cares a ton about the plants and isn't just making a quick sale.”

“It was hard to tell at first whether the shop was open or closed, but once inside, a wonderful space unfolded. It was a very warm, cozy environment, and the dog there was incredibly friendly, adorable, and playful. It would lie down and invite you to give it belly rubs—so sweet!

All the pots here are stylish, and the selection stands out among similar shops in the area for its refined taste. The tools and pots are so well-designed that it was enjoyable just to browse.

The plants are all in excellent condition, and although the prices are a bit high, the quality makes it worth it. I found some unique, charming plants that I don’t usually see at other shops—a truly lovely discovery. Since I found something I’d love to have, I definitely plan to visit again.”

“I love Callahan's. Owned by a wonderful family with longstanding roots in the Bastrop, Rockne, and Austin area. One of the family members works with the chicks and was fluent in both English and Spanish. He was very knowledgeable about the different breeds. Last time that I went, they had greatly improved the living conditions of the chicks.”

“This looks like a small shop, but they have so much! BIG trees are available. All kinds soil mixes are sold, both in wholesale amounts, and even retail. Their mulch is made on-site, so there is no middle man. In fact, I believe that everything is packaged on- site. They have a complex of over a thousand acres, so it's deceiving when you see the small shop. Plus, this place has been in business since the 1970's, and is family owned.”

“Love this place! It is more of a wholesale nursery for landscaping businesses. However, it is open to the public. The staff is super helpful and kind! Prices are great and they have lots of variety with larger specimens! Live getting citrus here.”

“I've been to this home depot a few times, especially for gardening tools and buying plants and soil for my backyard. It's as any Home Depot should be, with a wide range of selection and is well maintained. However the location can make it stressful due to the construction around the entrance and the heavy traffic. I also would prefer they had a better selection of perennial plants. For instance, they only had Spanish lavender rather than the tougher, longer lasting phenomenal lavender which would be more appropriate for Austin's climate. So if you're looking for a better variety of plants I would recommend visiting a local nursery. For home improvements this Home depot does the job. Staff was for the most part very helpful except for one employee who even refused to check in the system if they had the plant I was looking for in stock. I would also recommend they carry expanded shale for the clay soil here in Austin.”

“Has everything you need, the layout is easy to follow on the Home Depot app as well, in case you’re looking for something specific. Pretty accurate too, never saw something out of stock in person that said it was in stock on the app.

Most of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, but there are a couple of staff members at this location that don’t even reply verbally when you ask them for assistance…

Great paint department, everyone there is incredibly helpful and fast even when it gets busy.”
