“Really great nursery! Friendly staff, great selection, and just an overall lovely place to be. This is my first recommendation to those looking for a place to buy plants in Austin!”

“I visited The Great Outdoors to spruce up my backyard. This nursery did not disappoint. They offer an overwhelming amount of plants, both outdoor and indoor, soils and mulch, and beautiful pottery. They also offer some rare variety plants but understandably, at a premium price. Service is very friendly. They even offer free drainage hole drilling if the pots you're buying do not have drainage holes. I left The Great Outdoors with a few star jasmine to climb up the side of my house and I'm so excited for the fragrant flowers they produce! I also purchased a baby staghorm fern, baby umbrella tree and beautiful marbled terracotta pots for them to live in. So check this place out to elevate your space!”

“November 2023:The Natural Gardener is my favorite plant nursery. The people working here are plant experts and definitely know their stuff. In the past they have provided me important gardening tips and recommended specific plants that would work best for my yard. They have a wide range of plants, bushes, roses, and trees best suited for the Austin climate.I was here to get a bag of perennial ryegrass but did walk around. They had poinsettias and rosemary shaped like miniature Christmas trees for the holiday season. They also sell a huge variety of bags of compost, dirt, and other ingredients for your landscaping. There was also walking trails on their property showcasing how to design your property with a vegetable garden, native plants, fruit trees and a vineyard. There was also animals too where I saw chickens, Biscuit the goat, and dinosaurs (sculptures). They used to have a donkey but not sure where he went.It the best place to find native plants and gardening supplies.”

“So glad that I found these wonderful people when researching what kind of bamboo to buy in the Austin area. I purchased mine 2 years ago and they are always extremely helpful and super super fast to respond to emails, even when I am freaking out after hard freezes. Could not recommend buying from here more, it's a support system that cares a ton about the plants and isn't just making a quick sale.”

“I walked upon Frond’s new location on South Lamar last week and really was so happy to see they successfully planted themselves to a new location. The lighting inside was very New Mexico vibes so I really loved the ambiance immediately. Sara the owner was very welcoming and even placed my name and number on a list to call whenever they get Violets in. Thank you Frond and I know you will grow with abundance in your cool new garden ? ✨”

“Plants, plants, and more plants. Wow, this place has endless fields of all types of native south-Texas plants for sale as wholesale. Take the golf cart tour and see row after row of cactus, agave, trees, shrubs, flowers, plants, everything. Friendly staff and well organized layout. Highly recommended.”

“If you're a local home owner, this is your place for landscaping supplies. Get to know the people here, and they will treat you so well. They give me contractor pricing even though I'm not a contractor, as I've been completely re-do'ing my front and back yards. All the irrigation supplies I need, stone, etc. They are just so accommodating. Others should take note, as this is how customer service should be done. The lady up front is an absolute gem. And while I might not always know exactly what I need going there, they are so incredibly helpful in getting me to the best products to fit my needs. I hope that they can maintain this quality of service for years to come.”

“Wow! This place is amazing!! I’m in no way a master gardener but this place makes me want to be. There are many plants I’ve never seen before and the art in the little pink house puts it in my list for places to buy gifts in the future. And, the Bubba there… ♥️ ♥️?❤️ and the carts are great too.”

“Love this place! It’s that time of year for annual service. Paid $200 deposit to drop off leaf blower in need of tune up - new air filter. Two week turn around time. Purchased over the years - cub cadet riding mower, push mower, weed whacker, edger, hedge trimmer, leaf blower…lots of gas powered tools for a 5+acre yard. You can often get same manufacturers with less expensive models sold at big box stores. Problem is those less expensive models have plastic parts that in my experience, cannot be serviced by equipment dealers.”

“Update (5/2023):To add more clay to my soil I have ordered a few blends containing sandy loam for amending my existing soil to improve fertility and moisture retention. My most recent order (received yesterday) is a 50/50 blend of mushroom compost and sandy loam. The mix is well screened and well mixed. The wonderful smell and texture assure me it will result in high productivity of fruits and vegetables. It is a large load (15 yards) and they dump it in a tight spot. The skill of the dump truck drivers amazes me. A perfect dump, every time. (I buy ALLOT of "dirt" for terraforming an acre.) Consequently, Kinser Ranch is my soil supplier of choice and will be for the foreseeable future. They are accommodating and friendly to boot. Photos will be uploaded soon.2022:I have ordered and received countless loads of their garden mix in 8 cubic yard loads. The mix really is amazing for my vegetables, trees and ornamentals. Very good soil and not contaminated with weeds or bermuda grass like many other suppliers. The delivery service is timely and the loads are dumped accurately in the spots designated. The truck drivers are courteous and communicative. I highly recommend Kinser Ranch.”

“Keri was very helpful with picking out a little cute plant for me! Prices are a bit high but the service was really good and I rather support a small business rather than a large one when I get a chance!”

“I love Callahan's. Owned by a wonderful family with longstanding roots in the Bastrop, Rockne, and Austin area. One of the family members works with the chicks and was fluent in both English and Spanish. He was very knowledgeable about the different breeds. Last time that I went, they had greatly improved the living conditions of the chicks.”

“I used to go to Dan's Small Engine Repair for over 25 years. I miss Dan. He told me he got his parts from McCoy's and I ended up taking my business there. Dan relied on McCoy's and I do too. I'm in Hutto now but will continue taking my equipment to McCoy's.”

“My wife and I recently did a landscaping project at home and came here to pick out plants. Zenon was very helpful talking us through what plants would be better or worse options for our situation. He helped steer us away from some plants that wouldn't last through the winter that we had initially planned to get and we ended up with a lower final cost than we had planned for because of it. Love the plants we went home with, and big thanks to Zenon for helping us out!”

“Where do I start. Great selection. Great service. Ever so patient with people like me. I can’t stress how courteous they were and helpful. They know what they are doing and they care about their customers no matter how large or small the sale. They really impressed me. I’m sorry I was complicated. They helped de-stress my stressful situation.”

“Very nice staff! I arrived at 5pm on Saturday. On google their hours are until 5:30pm but because of COVID they actually close a little earlier. Despite that the owner still helped me pick out a flower! Great experience! Thank you so much for taking the time to help me!”

“Never thought I would Yelp any Company other than food, but we should! There are amazing interactions we have on a daily basis and the employee and their manager may not know how awesome the employee was the customer and how they made a difference in their day & life. So here goes. Background story, getting ready for a big party been visiting HD for several weeks now almost everyday getting something, returning buying more stuff. Today I needed some more paint and found a young guy named Connor in the isle. I explained my project and he literally spent almost 30 minutes with me!!!! He NEVER made me feel rushed or he needed to get back to work or had something other to do than help me. He was very experienced with paint and the effects and what you should and should NOT use for projects. I happened to have a photo of my project and showed him he the kind of color I was looking for and he went directly to a paint that purchased and used today. It color is AmAzing!!! I would have never picked this color out as I was going for a matte look, I'm so happy happy that I let him assist me on this project. I have always been timid asking for help in those places, because the last time I asked for assistance cutting trim board, the guy said Glenn could help me, he kept talking to me rude & ugly...I was trying to be so nice, He was hand sawing my board and cutting it all up ugly. I thought they used electric saws there. Now I have to find someone to help me smooth the edges, the reason I needed someone to assist. I even called the store and they told me anyone would be glad to assist in cutting the boards for me. I'm a girl I don't have cutting tools & how to cut 45 degree angles....so Glen then treated the lady behind me really nice...so see why it's important to shed light on the Angels of Home Depot!!! lol Thank you CONNOR - I can't wait to show you how my project turned out.”

“I am a frequent customer of this location and occasionally visit other HD stores as well. I was given the wrong pallet of concrete some time ago. It was a more expensive pallet of concrete by far and it seems simple to swap it with the correct one. Not so simple. Time of purchase was involved. Pallets involved. Receipts involved. Different credit card involved. Lots of people involved. What a headache! However, ANTONIA, understood and comprehended the situation today (8-23-23) when I brought it back. She both patiently and graciously followed the procedures. Her supervisor was there and this was just an inconvenience for her but she approved the transactions.ANTONIA solved all the problems, she jumped through hoops and she ultimately made the transactions happen smoothly, safely, and correctly! Totally professional and totally customer service oriented person! 10 STARS for ANTONIA! She is definitely the kind of employee who is focused on the customer as well as doing it correctly for the store!”

“Every Home Depot that I’ve been to, the workers are polite and well informed about whatever DIY home projects you’ll need help with. This Home Depot is no exception. The staff here had my order ready for pick up in minutes. Upon finding that the grill was damaged, they promptly replaced it with a new one and assisted us in loading it into the truck.”

“I have shopped here for 10 years. Lately, I think some major changes have made it a great place to shop. The self checkout update is great. Also, customer service always has several people working. It's great for commercial use. I shop here for work and the house. Their selection is geared towards residential, but their stock levels cater to contractors.”
