“My husband and I had a wonderful time at Cotton Gin Village. The cabin is very cosy. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. Sitting in the porch rocker in the evening. Breakfast is fabulous each morning. It was everything we needed for a few days away. The staff are also excellent, helpful and so friendly.”

“Great for a getaway. Great for couples. Prob not for families or kids. Little details and touches that made the stay extra special for us. You must eat at the on site restaurant as well. And the hot breakfast delivered to your cabin in the morning is beyond amazing.”

“We've been wanting to try this place for years and weren't disappointed. Great rooms, great staff, and perfect location, especially if flying in. Will definitely go back.”

“I cannot say enough on how blown away I was coming to stay here. We were welcomed by Rebecca, the owner/chef and the food was amazing. The atmosphere was inviting and everyone was welcoming. Keith played music in the saloon and had the best drinks made by Cameron. The room we stayed in was big, comfortable and the bed was luxurious to say the least. Breakfast the next morning hit the spot and cannot wait to go back to stay. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Hill Country for a truly magical experience.”

“Went to the restaurant for lunch. Nice atmosphere/ambiance. Ordered schnitzel with salad and side. Salad was crisp and delicious, schnitzel was tasty, huge portions, sauerkraut and red cabbage very good. We have had German food before and this was great. Service excellent. Very pleased and will return.”

“My husband and I stayed here for the first time, and our room was "The Social Goat". We loved it! We thought it was a great location considering it isn't very close to the city center but still manageable to talk there. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. I loved the covered porch, and it was very nice to have 2 chairs and a table.”

“My wife and I selected this in while we stayed in Fredericksburg for about five days; the property looks like it used to be an old Holiday Inn or possibly Best Western from back in the 70's . The swimming pool area is really cool with a slide for the kids, a volleyball net and a hot tub with an area to view a 70 inch HD TV. Our room was a suite with a wonderful king size bed, and two wall mounted 42 inch HD TVs boiler TVs . The channel selection was rather poorly planned. The selection process for TV channels was hidden because the channel guide would not show us what actual network we were watching , so we had to simply punch in numbers write down what we saw until I was able to get a hardcopy of the actual channel selection possibilities.I called the front desk and a piece of paper with channel opportunities was quickly made available to us by way of the maintenance man coming to our room . Another gripe is that their Wi-Fi was really not adequate because I could not get it a good signal while in my bed room; the Wi-Fi signal was best while sitting in my car or possibly even being near the pool area.Room cleaning also needs some attention because I did notice that the drain in the standup shower had an accumulation of shreds of tobacco. Apparently somebody opened up a cigar or something of the sort, and possibly filled it up with another smoking substance. ‍ cleaning personnel need to be outfitted with a telescopic scrubbing pad, because obviously scrubbing the shower floor is not a normal part of the cleaning routine. Our room doors had magnetic signs on them that told people to observe our privacy; upon checking checking out, I suggested to the clerk that each room have such a sign, but make it multilingual so that it would say "do not disturb" in German, (Bitte, Nicht Stören)French, English, and Spanish to somewhat convey a European atmosphere of which I believe that they are trying to convey. Although the hotel is close to the main street and walking distance of shops, the downside is that the main street also allows for big rigs to simply drive through the city, resulting in bumpy roads and the smell of diesel throughout the town. Overall a pleasant day, I guess ; we are considering returning during the spring time of 2024 .”

“Nice place to stay in a good location.Rooms could use a little updating, but, beds were comfortable. I didn't care for having to go up and down the stairs - my bad for not getting room on lower level.Enjoyed the hot tub. I would stay here again.Walkability: Within walking distance of several nice restaurants and shops.”

“The rooms were really clean and the beds soooo comfie. (Except the shower. It looked suoer sketchy so we skipped our shower that morning) I enjoyed our stay. The front desk peeps were really nice. I needed a straw and went to the cafeteria to see they had any but all they had were those little coffee stirrers. But there was an employee in there who said she had one in her car and she'd be happy to get it for me. So I gave her my room # but she never brought it. I had a $10 tip waiting on her for her promised above and beyond service she was going to provide. I was disappointed but it all worked out in the end. It was nice of her to offer tho. I did ask for a top floor room with a view of the hill country but she put us on the bottom floor with a view to nothing but a p-lot.”

“The hotel is a cute as can be. The location is close enough to walk right into downtown. Room was clean and tidy. I would stay here again, however I would skip staying in room number 2. You can hear absolutely everything outside and from the room above you. From the TV to the footsteps all night, bathroom flushing and all. So I recommend the hotel all day. It not room 2. Room 1 is across from 2 and I would imagine same thing.”

“If you are looking for fancy, spoiling attention and cuisine, this is not the place for you. If you were looking to sit out back and enjoy a glass of the local wine purchased from a winery within a mile, or have the sheep and the donkeys come up and visit you while you sit outside in the morning for coffee, then this is the place for you. If you want to decompress and watch the deer cross through the Meadow, then this is where you wanna be. We stayed in the Indiana house. There are just two of us and it was perfect for us. I love the self check in as we had just come from Austin and I wanted some quiet time.. That's what you're gonna get here. The owner did come by the next morning and she was pleasant, telling me the names and the history of the donkey in the area. Our house is the closest one to the street and there is some traffic noise on what used to be country Road. She apologized for that but I told her no apologies necessary! Next time we will probably go farther back on the property because we took a drive back there and it's amazing. I really do hope there is a next time. I will post some pictures in this review but I do need to warn you if you are looking for an accessible place to stay, This is probably not the best choice; it is rough country. Both of us are seniors and we're making it around just fine but if you have mobility issues, I would recommend a cane or trekking pole just for extra stability. There is not much lighting outside at night. But of course, that makes the stars all the brighter.”

“Great customer service and location. I was in room 128, which was like a full furnished apartment (Kitchen / Living Room / Bedroom / Bathroom / Closet). This location is pretty close to HEB, which is nice. I have paid hundreds more at other hotels and didn’t get half of what this room offers. When I am in the area again, I will look this place up.Rooms: Plenty of room, great value!”

“Very nice and clean accommodation. It was spotless and quiet. However, be sure to read the fine print regarding your reservation, and here's why.I booked Miss Lottie for myself for a solo trip. My retired mother decided to join me. So, I tried to upgrade to a larger trailer.Even though I booked well in advance (at least two weeks), when I tried to secure a larger space, I was informed that no changes could be made inside the 30-day window before my check-in date. Also, no refunds either. So, Mom and I shared the small trailer and made the best of it. But it would have been better to have the ability to move our reservation, especially if other trailers were available.Another reason I dropped a star is that we were not able to take a hot shower during our entire three-night stay. The property manager tried to fix the issue, but the water never got warmer than barely lukewarm. Since it was October and cool in the mornings and evenings, this was disappointing and very inconvenient. Furthermore, the showers are outside and I could not stand under cool water while being exposed to cool air, shivering to get clean. Besides those two grievances, we enjoyed our stay in the spotless, beautiful surroundings.”

“I stayed here with my bestie for a girls weekend a few weeks ago and we would 100% stay here again. It's nothing fancy but is clean, charming, & feels safe. Great coffee in the office with flavored creamer was a plus I wasn't expecting.”

“Great bang for the buck. Clean efficient and friendly. Was greeted by Maurine and she was helpful and very nice. The pool stays cool in spite of no shade. Will definitely stay there again.”

“We arrived and upon entrance the smell was ok. The sheets and blankets were dirty. The top covers had unknown substances. The sheets had animal hair, which turned out to be from rodents. The bottom cover and mattress were soiled with pee. An hour after bringing in our bags we thought we saw a large roach, turned out to be a small rodent. We soon discovered a colony of rats in the dresser and one of the beds. They need to do a total revamp of this place. It is unhygienic and dangerous to public health. I had to drive home 4 hours instead of getting a good nights rest because I could not let me kids stay in those conditions.”
