“I love our DG. The staff work hard to keep it tidy, neat and clean. Ive been to others that are cluttered with carts and boxes but not ours. Can't find an item, the staff is always willing and knowledgeable to provide help. They're courteous, friendly and willing to go the extra mile. Pop on in and tell them Hi!”
“What a fine neighborhood grocery store this is. I stopped by the other day to pick up a New York strip steak and a few other foods featured in the store's most recent three day sale circular, which one can obtain via app or hardcopy newsprint. I'm looking forward to preparing the healthy looking steak tomorrow. In addition to steak, I had a hankering for liver and onions. I want to thank the courteous associate who helped me locate beef liver. While I could find it on the app, I wasn't seeing it amidst the refrigerated meats. There's a good reason for that, as conveyed by the ever helpful clerk: Beef liver is stored in a freezer in a completely different aisle. This wonderful employee, who was in the middle of a particular task, gladly stopped what she was doing and walked several aisles out of her way to stand in front of and point to the actual product I was looking for. As far as snacks go, I made a couple good discoveries: 1) The jar of Planters roasted peanuts on sale turned out to be cheaper than that of the Brookshire's label on a comparably sized jar; 2) A box of Crav'n Chicken flavored crackers (I assume this is a discount competitor to a more nationally recognized brand) actually tastes better with a more subtle flavor than the national competitor. Bargain prices are wonderful, quality products are obviously a must, and a smaller store that is easily navigable is a treasure. Brookshires has or is all of these; but this store's helpful, friendly, efficient employees are the jewel in its crown.”
“This is a really good Walmart. However watch out for the cart wheels I kicked my pinky toe on the bolt / nut that’s on them . I should’ve paid a little more attention while wearing flip flops , lol but we’ve never had any problems and the store is always stocked up and the employees are really nice . Thanks for running a good business.”
“Went out of town and stopped to air up a tire, only to discover a nail. We drove to the Walmart Auto Care Center, where employee Marae was incredibly kind and helpful. She got us in and out in an out 30 minutes with a quick tire plug. They did not blink an eye with all my fur-babies in the car.Excellent service!”
The Cincinnati-based supermarket giant will open about 110 new stores in fast-growing markets by 2029 and introduce three updated store formats, executives told investors Oct. 20 at the company’s Investor Update in New York. Kroger already runs about 2,700 stores in 35 states. The formats come in three sizes, a bit like small, medium and large, matched to each market. Mary Ellen Adcock, Kroger’s executive vice president and chief merchant and marketing officer, walked through the lineup.
Walmart shoppers want a head start on the holidays, and money explains a lot of it. Some 44% of respondents call affording the holidays their top stressor, and 61% say holiday costs shape their shopping mood. Asked what would make the season easier, 70% picked lower prices and 57% picked more deals and promotions. Convenience ranks lower: 30% want one-stop shopping across categories, and 20% want faster delivery.
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
