Another HI GEM ?. Check-in was seamless. Hotel room 512...was perfect and the AC works extremely well. As I checked in...the young man and young on the left, in the photo, were very professional. The hotel is well off the highway in a quiet area of Western Houston. Lots of professional businesses in the area. Super quaint.
Great Job

Nearby activities: Plenty of good restaurants in walking distance. Loved Sylvias.
Safety: Like the gated parking.
Walkability: Nice walking areas nearby for those morning walks!
Food and drinks: Service with a smile at the restaurant breakfast downstairs.

I’ve been traveling 300 days a year for over a decade and hold top-tier statuses with IHG, Marriott, and Hilton. I don’t often write reviews because I’d get nothing else done, but my experience with the sales team at this hotel was so appalling that I felt compelled to share it.
We are holding 3-day conferences 2-3 times a month for the next year, and after having great experiences with Holiday Inn in other cities, I had high hopes for this location. Unfortunately, the sales representative I spoke with was not only unpleasant but also made ridiculous excuses that were clearly not well thought out.
When I inquired about simple amenities like coffee and water for our small group of 10, I was met with a bizarre explanation that outside food and drink were banned because someone once brought in so much food that it overflowed the trash and caused a fly problem. This is the most absurd justification I’ve ever heard. It's baffling that a hotel of this size doesn’t have the basic cleaning protocols to handle something as minor as this.
Despite the absurdity, I politely informed her that this policy wouldn’t work for us and decided to take our business elsewhere. However, what truly shocked me was the email I received afterward. The sales rep called me “low budget” and provided inaccurate details about our conversation. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially from someone in hospitality sales.
Given how many other hotels manage to deliver excellent service, this experience was a huge disappointment. I’m not surprised if this hotel is losing business, as their approach to customer relations is severely lacking. If they’re not filling every conference room every day, it’s easy to see why.
Good luck—you’re going to need it.

Garrett was exceptional by all means!!! Checking me in early, friendly and welcoming attitude with a smile on his face, and very knowledgeable about attractions and restaurants in the area. I will definitely be returning my next trip.

Way too many issues with reaching the front desk, but after a few work arounds, I got ahold of the manager who referred me to the assistant manager & she was MORE than amazing, extremely helpful! There were quite a number of us who had rooms, & we all enjoyed our stay except on the last night while in the lobby visiting with one another, the 3rd shift front desk attendant was very rude to us, he spoke to our group in a very disrespectful tone stating we were making too much noise. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet extended to our large group. I enjoyed the bed, it was very comfortable, & the coffee/pot, microwave & refrigerator were very nice additions & very helpful! There were stains on the carpet that appeared could have been cleaned. The daytime/afternoon front desk attendees were very helpful & accommodating. Unfortunately we did not have time to enjoy the pool, fitness & bar areas :-(

This hotel location was convenient to our appointment in Houston. We arrived on the day of a hurricane, and there was no electricity at the hotel. Garrett at the front desk was very helpful in getting us checked in with no computer access and no paper records, getting us to a room with no elevator, no light in the stairs, no room keys, you get the idea. Very unusual and stressful circumstances. Thanks, Garrett.

We arrived at the hotel during a power outage. Garrett greeted us and was very friendly. He helped us navigate our reservation process. He was extremely kind, patient, and professional.

I would not recommend staying here. Walking to my room shortly after check in, the hallway reeked of MJ and my room smelled like it had been smoked in recently. The hotel even forgot to remove the scent machine prior to me checking in. Neighboring rooms were playing loud rap music and smoking in the middle of the day. In my room, the floor had several stains and I even found a small nail in the carpet (a finishing nail to be precise; which was weird because the room had not been renovated). Positives include the bed was fine and the bathroom was fairly clean.

During my recent stay at the Holiday Inn at HOU Energy Corridor, I encountered numerous issues that made my experience far from satisfactory. From the moment we checked in, it was evident that the room was not up to standard. The air conditioning unit was barely functioning, leaving the room uncomfortably warm. This was particularly frustrating given the hot weather outside, and it made it difficult to rest and relax in the room.
To add to the discomfort, the phone provided in the room was broken, making it impossible to contact the front desk without having to physically go down to the lobby. This inconvenience was compounded by the fact that one of the lamps in the room was also broken, leaving us with inadequate lighting. Such basic amenities should be in working order, and their malfunctioning was a clear sign of poor maintenance and lack of attention to detail.
However, the most disappointing aspect of our stay was the behavior of the staff, particularly Nasser. When we requested dining plates and silverware, both Nasser and another staff member, Jamshed, refused to provide them. They claimed it was hotel policy not to provide these items and instead handed us cheap styrofoam plates and plastic spoons. This was not only environmentally unfriendly but also entirely inadequate for the meals we had planned to eat in our room. Nasser's attitude was extremely disrespectful and rude, making us feel unwelcome and undervalued as guests.
Despite these issues, there was a glimmer of professionalism when we checked out. Mr. Garrett listened to our complaints and apologized for the staff's behavior. He also provided a discount on our stay as a gesture of goodwill. While his response was appreciated, it did little to mitigate the overall negative experience.
In conclusion, my stay at the Holiday Inn at HOU Energy Corridor was disappointing due to the combination of inadequate room amenities and disrespectful staff behavior. The hotel's failure to provide basic comfort and courteous service is unacceptable, and I would not recommend this location to other travelers. Improvements in both maintenance and staff training are urgently needed to ensure a more pleasant and professional experience for future guests.
Rooms: Rooms were very old fashioned and needs serious renovations.

Great experience. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Olga helped me check in and guided me correctly to something I needed. Johnny cooked up some amazing quesadillas and added an ingredient that made them pop. Amazing. Mariya made me feel at home after a long day. Location is amazing as well. Overall a hidden gem in Houston. Forever a customer here.
Safety: Very safe area.
