REI stands out for its community-focused approach to outdoor gear. The products are premium and built to last, with an unbeatable return policy. Staff members are true enthusiasts who give expert advice. Prices are on the higher side, but the member rewards and quality justify it.
Pros: Expert staff, high-quality gear, great return policy.
Cons: Expensive, fewer budget options.
Overall: 9/10 — perfect for serious outdoor adventurers.

It is so unfortunate that such a nice place that I used to love to go turn into a place that I DO NOT want to go anymore. I used to love this place and their products. Now, I have to sneak in and hide otherwise if someone catches me tries to sell me a membership. How many times and to how many people do I need to say NO? Can I just do my shopping comfortably and leave the store without being harassed???
How about instead of bothering people for the membership they give a better service??? Why they can’t just tell people about the membership benefits at the register only???
Even when I say “not today” for many times they don’t stop wasting my time. I AM LITERALLY SICK OF THIS! I hope I can get someone’s attention and they stop harassing people when they go there for shopping.
I am done going there. I will go to WHOLE EARTH PROVINCE INSTEAD. Or I am sure there are other places like this

Amazing experience! I ordered a Thule cargo box brand new $1200 total. Once I got there the REI associates Mika and Larry helped me pick up my order. Excellent customer service from the beginning. While they were filling out the paperwork I spotted a significantly discounted, used cargo box of the same kind for around $223.
While Mika was about to haul out the original roof box I bought online I asked if we could get the discounted box instead even though I already was in the process of getting the new one.
They were knowledgeable and experienced enough to help me with my request fast but also informed me that I would get an additional 20% off on top of the used outlet/rei re supply discount for members.
Many other stores I’m sure it would be an inconvenience for this request as well as many associates aren’t always informed with whatever sales are going on.
In a timely manner they saved me close to $1,000 + interest on a credit card and Mika helped install and educate me how to use the roof boxes as it was my first time ever installing and using one. I was dreading buying a roof box but they made the experience perfect!

This is a place that handles comprehensive outdoor activity products such as camping, hiking, bicycles, SKI, etc.
We deal with Patagonia, Arcteryx, On, The north face, etc. If you come and buy it when it's on sale, you can get a lot of good deals.
After ordering online, pickup in store is also very convenient and inexpensive.

I've been riding bikes for about 25 years and have been to a plethora of bike shops all over the country. This bike shop is the absolute worst I've been to in my entire life.
To get two bikes tuned up required 1 hour to drop them off. Then the "tune up" actually made both bikes worse, so I had to bring them back again (the check-in lady gave us a bunch of hassle about bringing the bikes back in 30 days even though they have a 60 day warranty.
Of course they weren't ready when we picked it up on our third visit. For a total of over 2 hours spent waiting to either check in or check out. Go to a local bike shop and get much better service and follow up. Most local bike shops are going to stand behind their work and not try to be pedantic if they're responsible for the mistake.
The two people behind us in line were also bringing their bike back because the service did not fix their bike
Oh, and you spend several hundred dollars here on a couple tune-ups and they don't even put air in your tires when you pick up the bikes.

This review is for the amazing customer service we received from Sebastian. My son and I were fortunate that he was on the sales floor that day! He answered all our questions and gave us a ton of knowledge. He encouraged my son to test ride bikes to see which one was best for him. My son loved the Co-op DTI but I told Sebastian it was over my budget. Even though, he still continued to give me advice on what to look for in a bike. We’ve been searching for another bike within my budget but my son remembers the great experience he had at REI with Sebastian and wants that bike! Since his birthday is coming up I told him we could gather his birthday money from family and try to get the bike ;)

I visited this store and approached the bike counter about dropping off a bike technician resume and the man in the back who didn’t even acknowledge me standing at the counter to begin with told the other employee in an annoyed tone that ,” It’s all online just like everything else.” I was merely inquiring if they needed an experience mechanic but was met with immediate off-putting behavior. If this is how your bike shops treat people I don’t see how you have repeat clients. I would never treat anyone like this in any job much less a service job.

Older sales clerk (male) in the back pack area today (5/21/24) threw the tape measure at me today and said “you measure it”, so I left.
He was very rude.

It's an excellent place if you want to buy parts for a bicycle or need help in fixing one. Besides that, they have a lot of useful things for traveling, camping and etc

Don’t go to this store if you wear a Small or Medium. All they carry is XL and up. I’ve never seen a store lacking so many mediums. You’ll have a hard time finding any clothes if you wear a medium.
