The Tellepsen Family Downtown YMCA is an inclusive, purpose-driven community facility focused on bringing real change. It offers a wide range of opportunities including a Wellness Center, Group Exercise Classes, an indoor track, swim lessons, pickleball, programs for seniors, a gymnasium, an indoor pool, a steam room, a whirlpool, and after-school programs. The facility is generally clean and provides many quiet areas to study or use Wi-Fi, including a separate women's workout area. It features a respectful community atmosphere without "gym rats or gym bros," and has a good size and amount of machines to meet training goals. Members appreciate the tremendous benefits for the price, citing access to traditional gym equipment, a pool, steam room, racquetball, basketball, and a food court. The employees are very nice, friendly, and helpful, contributing to a supportive community feel with knowledgeable, professional trainers. Some drawbacks include the first-floor men’s locker room, which is often dirty with showers that feel dirty and sometimes do not work properly, though the second floor is better maintained. The gym gets very packed at peak hours, and the layout of machine rows facing each other is considered awkward. Pool hours can be inconsistent, with lifeguards sometimes causing delayed openings, and the Sunday opening time of 12 PM is inconvenient for some. Despite these issues, the nonprofit is appreciated for doing a lot of good for children and the community at its price point.
The club is super clean, well organized and has multitude of activities available for every age and every taste!
