“I scheduled a next day pickup for furniture we no longer needed, but which was still in good condition. The whole process was quick and straightforward. Fill out a quick form online, and get updates via email or text (we used text). Bradley and Jacob were our pickup team, and they were amazing. They were earlier than scheduled which was perfectly fine (I was given notice when they were 40 minutes out), and were polite, friendly, professional, and efficient. I'll definitely use them again in the future!”

“Friendly staff and very attentive. Does take a minute to clear paperwork before donating. They offer snacks and drinks pre, during, and post donation. Ive been donating here 4-6 times a year for about 7 years and have only had 3 bad sticks and staff always super caring if that happens. Proud to be 6 + gallons in!”

It just opened when we went there, and we visited every A house with great works on display. I like this place very much. “I've been donating blood here for the last few years. Specifically double reds. Absolutely no complaints about this place. I donate every 3 months like clockwork and so far they have never screwed up once. (Trust me other places do. You'd think if you're giving them your blood for free, those other places would try harder.) This place is open on Sundays which is what I prefer. I'll make an appointment at least a day in advance, I go in, get hooked up, BS on my phone, machine finishes, wrap up, and go home. If you're the chit chat type they are super friendly. I'm not so they leave me alone and just check up on me once in awhile which is why I like them.”

“Got a free bike to get to and from work. God bless the donors of the bikes and all of the volunteers that work on the bikes and get them repaired and ready. Picked out an excellent bike, rode off and the tire was rubbing. Turned around and brought it back and they spent almost an hour making sure it was correct and not rubbing on the frame. Thank God for people who care about others. Inspiring me to make sure I extend the same care to others. Thank the LORD Jesus.”

“Ronald McDonald House is more than a place to stay—it is a refuge for families whose children are facing complex medical challenges. During my visit, I was struck by the facility’s welcoming atmosphere and the exceptional care given to its children’s areas, which were maintained in beautiful condition. The warmth and hospitality of the staff and volunteers were equally inspiring. It was a privilege to contribute a simple meal and, in a small way, support families during an incredibly difficult time. Seeing corporations, volunteers, and individuals come together to create a nurturing home for families in need was truly heartwarming. Their collective compassion is a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when a community cares.”

“I've been a WAS-H member for nearly five years now! WAS-H is a great place to learn and practice my watercolor practice in Houston. Watercolor and acrylic painting classes, workshops and demonstrations are taught by some of the city's most impressive watermedia artists, and all offered at a reasonable price. The WAS-H gallery is a great opportunity to not only show my work at monthly shows, but also see the immense amount of talent at the organization. As a watercolor beginner, I've always felt warmly welcomed by the community here and highly recommend this nonprofit organization to anyone who wants a constructive environment to learn art foundations!”

“We were in Houston for a 10K along the Buffalo Bayou. After the run I popped into the visitor’s center located in the Water Works in search of a map of the city, as our hotel was out of maps. Although I didn’t find the city map I was looking for, this visitor center does have free maps & guides to attractions along the Buffalo Bayou plus a nice selection of cards & gifts for sale. Best of all, the two workers there that day, Adriana & Rosemarie, were super helpful when asked for their recommendations for local dog-friendly breakfast spots & breweries nearby. They steered us straight to Saint Arnold’s brewing co, the ideal venue for enjoying a college football game outdoors with a pooch. Next time we’ll try Barnaby’s Cafe, their breakfast recommendation. Our trip to H-town was made more memorable thanks to tips from these gals!”

“Very nice organized place . So many classes of things to do,!! Staff is very well organized. I really think.. organizing, planning, doing this daily as well as working in the heat, mass people .. that is dedication. You have to understand and appreciate what their sacrifices are. I don't think they get paid. We must not disagree but appreciate what THEY do to help others. I'm 87 and denied govt help on anything so help on food, glasses, classes, etc is amazing for me. I'm patient on what God can give me. My life may be short so I'm grateful for all my Blessings and the dedication of these good banks, classes, glasses, etc. Govt had gotten shabby in helping people and health x Life for elderly, is so important. Prayers and Blessings for help these days HEB CONTRIBUTIONS are truly Appreciated!! Along with the dedicated workers. That to me is what the world NEEDS. And sharing is vital as well. Be considerate, polite in manners. It's ALL. Good Blessings. If you're unhappy it's okay but try to understand others.. okay. Bless everyone!!”

I’m so grateful they had her in their care until we found her. They had her spayed and up to date on the basic vaccinations before we took her home. She loved the workers and volunteers there and gave them a heartfelt goodbye when we adopted her. She’s adjusted very well into her new home and family now.❤”
