“I love the ravine path. Well-maintained trails and so much wildlife and flowers. Thick with shading trees. My favorite nature spot in Houston. Amazing affordable membership includes free parking (otherwise parking is a bit high, so just join! )”
“I’m new to Texas and was referred to St. Hope by a friend. When I called I spoke to Jessica, and she was absolutely amazing, such an angel! She had no idea, but I was going through something at the time, and her kindness, patience, and even her ability to make me laugh really meant a lot. The clinic staff overall was nice, though you could tell some didn’t really want to be there. However, Dr. Caston was incredible, bedside manner 10/10! I truly appreciated the care and compassion I received.”
“I scheduled a next day pickup for furniture we no longer needed, but which was still in good condition. The whole process was quick and straightforward. Fill out a quick form online, and get updates via email or text (we used text). Bradley and Jacob were our pickup
team, and they were amazing. They were earlier than scheduled which was perfectly fine (I was given notice when they were 40 minutes out), and were polite, friendly, professional, and efficient. I'll definitely use them again in the future!”
“After 20 years of military service, I knew I needed a few more tools to help prepare for the corporate world. Career Gear Houston truly amazed me with the support they provide to veterans in the Houston area.
They helped me with professional attire for my new job, along with resume writing support, career field tips, and interview skills. What stood out most was how genuine and intentional their team was. They are not just providing clothes or career resources; they are helping veterans walk into new opportunities with confidence.
I’m very appreciative of Career Gear Houston and the great work they are doing for the veteran community. Their support made a real difference for me, and I’m grateful organizations like this exist in Houston.”
“Friendly staff and very attentive. Does take a minute to clear paperwork before donating. They offer snacks and drinks pre, during, and post donation. Ive been donating here 4-6 times a year for about 7 years and have only had 3 bad sticks and staff always super caring if that happens. Proud to be 6 + gallons in!”
“Kids’ Meals truly does life changing work. Executive Director Beth Harp is a powerhouse leader who has transformed this organization from a small operation in Garden Oaks into what it is today. They serve 10,000 (16,000 in the summer) nutritious lunches, delivered daily to children under six who aren’t yet old enough for school meal programs.
Every lunch is packed in a brown bag decorated with hand-drawn pictures, all of this happens daily and done by incredible volunteers. In the summer, that number grows to 16,000 meals a day because they feed all the kids in the home. They have a goal with their new, custom-built facility, to deliver to 26,000 children daily by 2031.
If you have a passion for supporting children in food insecure homes please consider this cause. It’s definitely worth supporting. If you’re looking for a way to make a real difference, consider volunteering your time or donating to help Kids’ Meals reach their goal.”
“We went for the light event, so cute and magical. There is loads to see, the trail is a really good length to walk. We took our 20 month old and she walked majority of it. The displays are phenomenal, thought out really well.”
“A place to connect with others and I highly recommend it. Even though this is a 12 step program, that you can also find anywhere else, AA is a Peer to peer group, supported by donations by members only ! no other outside sources. I believe it’s 85 years old. It’s been around. There are other groups here too such as marijuana anonymous and SLAA and also children of alcoholics anonymous . there is also a community center here that has a giant puzzle always going on l, anyone can come in and just start working on it. Feel free to pop in and start asking questions to anyone there and maybe step into a meeting if it’s your first time. We are the same people you used to hang out at the bars with. Alcoholics helping other alcoholics to get sober and stay sober.”
“This is a great art area, a community that was once almost deserted, but was revived by a few buddies with ideas. It’s really cool, and the staff are very enthusiastic. It just opened when we went there, and we visited every A house with great works on display. I like this place very much. I like Houston, a great, diverse, inclusive, modern, and infinitely charming city. Because of this place, I fall in love with Texas even more.”
“My husband was seen on time and the appointment was very fast. The lovely ladies working here are so nice and welcoming. I also had a 2 year old with me and luckily there are books, a TV, and toys to keep him busy. Highly recommend.”
“Genuinely some of the best care I’ve ever gotten! Mrs Irene was amazing and so gentle. As well as the guy who greeted me and did the first part of the tests. Sexual health is sooo important! This is an amazing service to have”
“Shape community center is vibrant and full of life! It's a center devoted to its neighbors and elders. It sends a strong message of strength, renewal and support. My only complaint is I can't give them 100 STARS! They deserve it! I love this place.”
“Took my cat to get spayed they were very nice and friendly thy spoke to you about how everything goes and the care before and after ,treated my cat like she was their own also very clean and professional especially polite”

“The conservancy does an amazing job in creating a beautiful landscape for Houstonians and guest to enjoy. I love how the staff is friendly and willing to pause their work to teach little ones about nature and how to care for creation.”
“A 4.8 does this place no justice! Customer service was phenomenal. I told the stylist my sizing and clothing and she executed. She was dress super cute and had beautiful bubbly personality”
“Absolutely amazing!!! And that is an understatement. They serve the community beautifully and treated myself/my student with first class respect when we volunteered. We will be back and I hope to learn from the best.”
“Great opportunity to volunteer, help the community, help kids learning to give back to their community. The staffers are super compassionate and fun to be around. Also you have the opportunity to get your own pet seen by a Veterinarian in Fridays”
“I would like to write this 5 star review for the volunteers who carry-in meals on an almost daily basis. Families who are managing complex health issues including constant hospital communication, medical bills, all night bedside care, medical treatments, pharmacy runs, etc. really benefit from not having to worry about the next meal. In the few weeks that I've stayed here with my daughter, a variety of volunteers have arrived, from squads of eager teenagers to medical students, to the grandmotherly type that you just want to hug. Thank you volunteers for providing nourishment and love to RMH families. You are the hands and feet of God.”
“Wonderful! They do so much for so many people and are friendly in the process. Great to volunteer your time, get assistance, and also to donate to a fabulous place that touches many hearts!”
“Welcoming for Veterans environment, open arms hug to their community. Today was an absolute clarification of my thoughts with VFW After speaking with Edgar Vargas, he took the time while at the same time setting up today's event together with Combined arms organization for our co-veteran community. He was so heartwarming in explaining how VFW is not only about us Veterans but also our civilian community to come together to network recourses and help cohesively Help each other.”

“Great instruction, very detail oriented. Self defense/fundamental jiu jitsu focused curriculum. Not competition-focused, but they still welcome it. Highly recommend.”
“They are the best. On site veterinary services. Free shots and treatments during the month. They are the take in as the last resort for the animal shelters. Great place to volunteer”
“I attended an industry presentation and luncheon here. The establishment is very stately and very well maintained. The facility is large and the catering meal and service were great.I’m sure it comes at a premium price. But recall you pay for what you get.”
“I always enjoy attending musicals and this venue as the parking is close, the facilities are modern with a classic ascetic, as well as sounds and music are top notch. Truly was happy to see Little Shop of Horrors(2024) and Spamalot (2026), but have to admit the Cher show was good as well.”
“Phoenix House has been not only a great resource but an amazing partner to our district. The fentanyl presentations provided to our students delivered valuable, age-appropriate information and increased awareness around a critical issue. The resources shared by Mrs. Waddell and her staff empowered our students with the autonomy to share what they learned and ensure others are informed about the effects of fentanyl.”
“Exceptional customer service and assistance as soon as you walk thru the doors. The staff has a pleasant disposition okay about serving the homeless. I felt the true spirit of servitude flowing from their hearts. I'm truly grateful for such an abundance of federal financial support and assistance from the federal, state and all private sectors assisting the homeless population each and every day. Thank you (The Beacon) and Search Homeless Project for assisting me when I truly needed help up to help myself.”
“One of my favorite places in Houston. A deep peaceful stillness in the middle of the city. Small circular building with a few huge modern paintings and some benches.
If you’re scared of your own thoughts… don’t go! :)”
“I went for an interview. They didn't hire me. But I thought alot of what they're trying to do for the animals. They had a wonderful facility and seemed to care deeply. If I had the money, I would donate to them”
“CanCare is full of such caring and wonderful people wanting to make sure that any person going through cancer does not do it alone. After my father was diagnosed with a GBM, I used their services and helped me so much to have someone to talk to that knew exactly what I was going through. Emotional support is so key during these hard times and can attest to how it helped me. Thank you CanCare for connecting cancer survivors and caregivers!”
“Literally love them! Super kind and welcoming. So educational honestly so many tools and resources that I was unaware of. They were truly great and made everything so easy. A wonderful experience.”
