The staff there cared for us deeply. They were kind, supportive, and truly felt like family. They don’t just want you to get by, they want you to succeed. They pour into you, encourage you, and give you the tools to build a better future for yourself.
I’ve been on my own for almost a year now, though I’m still connected through aftercare services, and they continue to check in on me in a very genuine way. Everything I learned there, from group sessions and discussions to play therapy for the children helped shape where we are today.
I am now stable, and they encouraged me every step of the way, especially in continuing to be a mother. They supported me through an unexpected pregnancy, helped me during my hospital stay, and stood by me during postpartum recovery. I am truly grateful for the way they showed up for us.
What may seem like a shelter is really a home. When you’re there, you feel love. I hadn’t been to church in years, and Texas Baptist reminded me of how much God loves me, my family, and how He desires for us to live safe, joyful, and meaningful lives.

“The staff here is great. I needed an item relatively quickly which they did not have in stock. They found the item and expedited shipping. I paid extra for the shipping but the staff worked with me to get the item in the timeframe I needed.”

I went there to donate not to buy and found out that their donation time is only Saturdays at certain times. I was upset because I drove from a far place just for that donation. they could have tell me over the phone about time frame when I called them to ask if they accept donations.”

“So many people volunteer their time here on a daily basis. They're doing the best they can with the funds and food they have available, trying to serve an ever growing group of people with needs. Whenever I assist there I am impressed with the cheerful and hardworking spirit of all these people who keep the place running, and the friendly, quiet patience of the people waiting in line at the food pantry.”

Ken and Dona were incredibly warm, patient, and thoughtful with their help. This was not just a quick transaction. They took real time to walk us through what to get, what to hold off on, and how to think ahead so we could save money long-term, especially with uniform sizing as our sons grow. That kind of forward thinking makes a big difference for families.
The store itself is very neat, well organized, and easy to navigate. Everything felt intentional and welcoming, not rushed or overwhelming.
Most importantly, we felt truly welcomed. This is the kind of place that makes you excited for the journey ahead. We are looking forward to coming back year after year as our sons work their way through the Boy Scouts ranks.

“Such a gem! I’m from Indiana and killing some time while my husband is at a conference. This is about a 30 min drive from the domain area. Very fair reasonable prices (lower than you’ll find at goodwill in most cases) and well organized. Kind people with a good cause. Everything from home decor, holiday items and a decent selection of clothing. It’s a good thing I don’t live here or else I’d become a regular. Haha”

“What an amazing place! I went with my mom over the weekend. I was very reluctant to go but I’m so glad I did. I think my mom purchased every 8ft door they had. Kelly was amazing! He overwhelmed my mom’s heart with his helpfulness, patience and generosity. He answered all her questions without hesitation and always had a smile. The staff and volunteers were super helpful without being asked. Very knowledgeable. This store has everything you need for your home. They will even help you load your truck. I recommend anytime you go in ask for Kelly, he is the best and full of great knowledge”
“Overall they had a great selection of items. There was no specific order to anything but searching was fun. Staff rotated the bins every hour, swept floors inbetween, toilets were clean, tables, drinks and ice cream were avaliable. Staff were polite even though people were crowding and check out was affordable and easy.”

“I left Planet Fitness after 12 years. The Y is five minutes from my house and I get motivated when I see so many of the older folks (I'm almost 60) dedicated to fitness. I really love the fact that there's a sauna, pool, hot tub, Zumba, basketball court, punching bag, and a dark room for cycling. This is the perfect place for me.It is always clean and the staff and trainers are friendly.”
