About Courtyard by Marriott Houston Downtown/Convention Center
The Courtyard by Marriott Houston Downtown/Convention Center is a hotel located near the convention center, about six blocks away, with a very walkable location. Guests generally find the rooms to be clean and the service friendly, with staff members like Shantria at the restaurant and Kenneth the security guard receiving positive remarks for their efficiency and kindness. The hotel staff at the front desk can sometimes come across as cold or unwelcoming, especially late at night, which detracts from the experience. Some areas of concern include water damage on the walls from a roof leak and worn-down rooms with outdated furnishings, such as pulling carpets and small closets. The bathroom space is large but not efficiently used, and some guests have found the beds somewhat uncomfortable. The hotel can be confusing to navigate due to ongoing construction downtown. On the positive side, the hotel offers friendly service and a convenient location, but issues with billing, maintenance, and overall updates suggest it may not fully meet guests' expectations.
My review is mainly for Ashley(sp?) at guest services who provided me with amazing customer service when I needed to grab a bunch of folios for my company's trip to Houston. She was patient, quick and kind throughout the annoying process of searching for these!
