This is an athlete’s paradise - blending group circuit training (think Orange Theory-style) and CrossFit equipment indoors with “no mirrors, no treads, and no egos!” Their Tuesday/Thursday jam is cardio-focused, while other days of the week focus on building strength. F45Tv keeps the group running on time, Coach Alec pumped us up with precision cues, and Sam is a storm spotter with morale boosts throughout. “It took me trying five different gyms in Austin before I found and stuck with Lumos! Everyone was extremely welcoming from day one. The coaches are the most observant and thorough coaches I’ve ever had, and the programming is challenging but scalable. I came in with a back injury and knee pain but was able to jump right in because the coaches listened to me and helped me modify. “I can’t say enough good things about Girl Power Fitness! A friend initially recommended them to me, and signing up has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself.

I used to enjoy strength training, but it’s been years since I really focused on it, and trying to develop my own routines felt like a chore that never got done. I just turned 55, and lifting weights feels more important than it’s ever been. Now I get three workouts a week that I can do on my own time, without a lot of fancy equipment (a mat, dumbbells, a step, and a chair are usually all that’s needed), and still see great results. Even better, I really enjoy the workouts! The exercises are varied enough to keep me interested, but consistent enough that I can gauge my improvement over time.

Whitney is an encouraging and supportive trainer, who is also very responsive to feedback. There have been one or two exercises I either shouldn’t do (because of a past injury) or just don’t care for, and I haven’t seen either one of those exercises again. I travel frequently, and this week I don’t have access to a gym, so Whitney created workouts for me using only body weight and a set of bands that I can easily take with me anytime I travel.

The workouts are all available through an app that is easy to use. I can move workouts around on the app calendar as needed, and chat with Whitney about anything that comes up. Each exercise has an accompanying short video demonstration, so if I’m not exactly sure what to do, I can watch the video to make sure I’m doing each exercise correctly.

Convenience, variety, support and encouragement, and most importantly, RESULTS. That’s Girl Power Fitness in a nutshell.”

“I recently joined Strength and Endurance Gym in Kyle, Texas, and I’m still trying to figure out how this place manages to be both welcoming and the reason my legs and arms feel like noodles every day in the best way possible.

I actually started out with one of their personal trainers because I was convinced there was no way I could survive a group class. I fully expected to pass out dramatically in the corner. But nope, they really mean it when they say all levels are welcome. After a few sessions, I worked up the courage to try a class… and now here I am, a month later, still showing up daily like it’s my new religion.

The coaches are incredible. They push you to give your best but also listen when you say, “Hey, my wrists/ankles/knees/back/soul is acting up today.” They immediately offer alternatives so you can keep moving without hurting yourself. It’s honestly impressive how fast they can modify a workout while still cheering you on.

The community here is something special. The members are so kind it makes you wonder if there’s a kindness requirement at the door. And the owners learn your name almost instantly like, scary-fast. You walk in twice and suddenly you feel like a regular.

Enrolling was super easy, too. They offer different plans, and best of all: no sign-up fees, no admin fees, no enrollment fees, no mysterious surprise fees just your monthly membership. Bless these people.

I’ve already seen progress just from consistently showing up and putting in the work. Every class has been awesome, and after a long day at work, it’s the perfect outlet. Strength and Endurance has become part of my routine, and honestly, I’m a little obsessed.

If you’re looking for a supportive, fun, affordable gym that proves group classes aren’t as scary as they look, I highly recommend this place. Open gym is also an option but group classes push me in a very good way 💪🏼”

“I've been a member since 2019 and I think Orangetheory is the best workout around! It's a combination of cardio & strength that changes all the time and keeps you coming back. The Circle C studio is the 💣 - the coaches motivate me like nothing else, and the vibes are chill and friendly. Lots of options for class times & types, from very early morning to late evening, with focused classes for treadmill or strength training or the standard 2G/3G classes that are a little bit of everything. Love the special challenges they do at this studio like bingo & Monopoly to keep things interesting. It's a special place!”

“Any Time Fitness on FM 1826 is perfect for me. It is 5 minutes away from my house and I can go anytime I want. There are cardio machines and weight lifting equipment, even a sled plus weights, mats etc. They have excellent trainers you can sigh up for a fitness schedule just for you. It is clean and nice place to workout. The managers are always willing to help.”
