“Stopped to fill up my truck and pick up a snack and a drink for my road trip, I Love this location the cashiers are always in a good mood and make small talk, they take pride in their job.”
“The store is a nice place to stretch your legs, get gas or grab snacks. Gas is comparable to others in this area. It's a clean , friendly gas and gift store !”

“To be honest, I've had mixed experiences at this station. It is not uncommon for pumps to be out of order temporarily. However, that is to be expected. The reason I come here exclusively is, they sell E85. E85 is usually in stock, decent price, and every time I have measured the ethanol content is dead on at 85%. Exactly what I needed. Prices otherwise are solid. Employees have been helpful and reasonably friendly in my experience. Never tried any of the food or anything. But, if you're looking for E85 in the elgin area, this is the place to go!”

“Small and quaint. The selection is small compared to other gas stations, but the beer is always cold. The homemade chili is awesome. And they had supplies that major retailers ran out of.”
“Newer c-store with all the usual items, plus some tourist-y offerings like hats (all types, sombreros included) & shades. Staff were really kind and engaged with their patrons.”
“I unabashedly spend $80+ a week here on one product, the locally brewed craft brew Buckethead. They keep 2 rows in the beer cooler, amazing for such a small store. I have become semi invalid in recent years, and the wonderful women here will get my usual order when they see me and carry it out for me. Try getting that from any other convenience store!”
“This place has the best food the birria tacos are amazing along with everything else they cook. Wild Taco inside this place is awesome. The restrooms are clean contrary to some of the comments that other people have falsely claimed. The photos aren't even of the same place.”
“The ladies working here in the mornings are too amazing- we don’t deserve them. Their kindness and loveliness is only surpassed by their delicious breakfast tacos. Bless you ladies!”

“3 showers, wide parking spots. Police cars cruising sometimes, making this place more safe. 100000 snacks. Don't blame them for reserved parking, probably local truck owners like to park they trucks here every day. They have pizza and very good coffee.”

“Just stopped by for a quick visit. The store is nice. The employees were friendly. The bathrooms were clean. They have a variety of items to choose from and a good selection.”
“One of the best locals around. This food is such great to-die-for taste. If you find yourself down 290 past Elgin going into McDade or from Paige into McDade you'll find Scales slightly hidden within an extended gas station but this is a true cafe attached by the extension of the convenient store. Red beans and rice, the gumbo, just about anything we've had here is cooked to perfection, truly an original but wonderfully unique taste too. Do NOT mis-out on this food when driving thru the 290 portion of McDade. You'll be happy you stopped in! And the proprietors such great folks too. The love is in the food!”
