“The store manager is reprinting customer receipts with the system used and making associates give 100% satisfaction scores as if they were the customer. The DM hires outside the company for ASM roles which hinders growth for the associates who actually work and have earned for those higher paying roles. The store is open an hour early and an hour later than what it used to be on Sunday's and still pay these folks $12.00 with 0.10 cent yearly. YEARLY raises. Corporate Greed at it's finest. Pay these people a living wage.”
“I shopped at the store almost every single day during my stay in new Braunfels. 8/2025-11/28/2025. I slept in the parking lot in front of their store repairing my car little by little. I’m sure they never knew that I was sleeping in the parking lot. They did get used to seeing me every day though, and they were always kind to me. I did manage to stop in there on the last day To say goodbye, but the usual staff was not there. I slept in my car and delivered DoorDash one day at a time until my car was roadworthy to get back to Florida. And that time I replaced almost the entire cooling system. Radiator, all hoses, fans , front and rear brakes, all 4 tires and more. I felt very at home and very safe in this parking lot. Nobody ever bothered me once. Of course, I was gone most of the time until I was ready to sleep. At that point, I would cover up all my windows and go to sleep in peace. This store was always clean and staffed as much as possible. It’s nothing new to most people that lines can get long during peak periods. Also…: For thanksgiving the store manager packed me a to go plate and gave it to me at the door. As well as some donuts, and juice.”
“This is a decent size Dollar General located near Canyon Lake. It has 18 doors of refrigerated space and 16 doors of freezer space. Four of those doors are dedicated for cold beer, but no craft beer. You will also find gardening supplies, cosmetics, grocery items, home decor, snacks, household items, and pretty much anything that you would need for the home or outdoors.”
“I visited this location today (2 days before expected temperature freeze) to pick up cat food not realizing everyone was out panic shopping. The line was long when I was ready to check out and got even longer as I waited. The lady at the register was a rock start knocking out each transaction as fast as possible, and with a positive and welcoming attitude. People like her are exactly what the service industry needs. This was at approximately 7:30pm on 1/22/26.”
“When and there tonight and the manager and the gentleman that was working were amazing people kind and very helpful I was so grateful for them both I had to download the app to get my discount off my pizza and my free Pepsi and they didn't rush me tell me to take my time there soooo good to my grandbabies they were absolutely amazing wish I live close by there I'd be there all the time”
“I work near this location so I'm here often. Every time iv come in its clean and organized nothing like the rest of them in town. Not sure if its the manager but who ever keeps up with this location does a damn good job.”
“The service her was the greatest of all time! Alex was such a sigma and he did not fail to nerd out with me. He really made me feel seen. He needs a raise ASAP! He really took the time to make sure that I found what I was looking for. He helped me find the cheapest items and made sure I knew how to get the best deals.”
“Good place and good customer service. Sometimes they don't have what you are looking for and there are times when the coolers are busted, but most of the time you will be in and out pretty quick.”
“This DG is close to home which is really convenient for us and the cashier I usually see is so friendly. When I was heavily pregnant he would help me load things into my car when I needed help. Only down-side is that sometimes the line can get kinda long, but that's with any DG. They have a self-checkout that is supposedly going to be up & running soon which should help! Another odd thing to add is that they check 20 dollar bills (and up) very often, but I believe that is being enforced by management.”
“I went to the gas station and they wanted $9.00 for eye drops. I left and went to Dollar General and paid $4.00 for Clear Eyes. I was so excited when I saw the yellow snack bowl just what I was looking for. Customer Service was wonderful she was very friendly and helpful.”
