“Gruene General Store is like a blast from the past. It reminds me of the General store in F.C, WI when I was a young child. I could have stayed for a couple of hours in the store. There is so much to see and they have ice cream!!! If you are in Gruene, Texas, you must visit this store!”

“This is my go to stop on the way to work. I go early so this is a chance to fill up without crowds. It's an HEB company, so you know that it's well maintained and clean. I prefer to go here rather than the mega fuel stop across the street because early in the morning, some of the folks are timing themselves against a Nascar Pit Stop and it gets sketchy driving thru the lot. I feel totally safe here.
They also have a car wash that's reasonable for a drive thru version. It's good to knock off the grime and pollen, but I wouldn't go on a prom date afterwards.”

“Store appears clean however it smells atrocious. It was my first and last time ever coming. Which is sad I love small companies. I just can’t stand the awful drain smell. It’s like dirty, mop, water, and sewage.”

It's Sprouts, so it's a bit pricey but shop the specials.... it's not a replacement for HEB or Granzin's but a compliment”

“I like our local Walmart except it’s very popular with all the tourist who visit the river and other New Braunfels attractions. So there are always items out of stock and not restocked. We’ve gone to other Walmarts like Cibolo and they always have everything stocked. Just saying! You need to go check them out. Thank You!”

“I am a big fan of H-E-B and while this location is not one of the newer model stores, the service here stands out. I recently needed to pickup some holiday blooms and the in-store florist could not have been more friendly and helpful. I was able to modify an arrangement in the cooler to add some more holiday cheer and the end result was amazing. It had red roses, asiatic lilies, baby's breath, holiday berries, and more. I never order flowers from a web site-you really need to go in and talk with florists because they can tell you which flowers are fresh and give you ideas that you may not have considered about an arrangement. Great service, highly recommended.”
“I visited this location today (2 days before expected temperature freeze) to pick up cat food not realizing everyone was out panic shopping. The line was long when I was ready to check out and got even longer as I waited. The lady at the register was a rock start knocking out each transaction as fast as possible, and with a positive and welcoming attitude. People like her are exactly what the service industry needs. This was at approximately 7:30pm on 1/22/26.”

“They're usually really clean and have decent young employees that get to you as soon as they can. They do wonderful and usually are great customer service. Occasionally theres arises issue with the ac and bathrooms but its usually the city or HVAC people that are the issue.”

“I am not a direct customer for this store. I am a door dasher and let me tell you. I have dashed to many locations and the gentleman that works at night is amazing. I’m sad to say I don’t know his name and I should be ashamed of that.
I just picked up two orders from this store. He was being bombarded by door dash orders and walk in customers. Let me say this man is an amazing worker. He managed to pull off all those orders and customers single handed. They rearranged the store on him and he was busting his butt to find the items. All while handling walk ins.
I know one review will not change his pay or position but I hope he at least gets the recognition he deserves. It is rare to find people these days that are as hard working as that man is. I applaud you sir and that isn’t something I do lightly in this day and age. 10 stars to you good sir!!!!!!”

“I went to the gas station and they wanted $9.00 for eye drops. I left and went to Dollar General and paid $4.00 for Clear Eyes. I was so excited when I saw the yellow snack bowl just what I was looking for. Customer Service was wonderful she was very friendly and helpful.”
