“This place is beautiful, the scenery is beautiful, the ambient if great & it's a venue you can get married in, throw a party in, or just rent for a special occasion.”
“Four stars only because how expensive the rooms are. The place is nice, but not $300 per night nice. It's much nicer than any other option in Odessa, but it's still hard to justify the price, especially in the off-season for the oil fields.”
“An Odessa Texas landmark business. In fact, an institution. Friendly service, coldest drink in town. Plenty of parking, and I mean plenty. Wheelchair accessible. A must visit bar.”

750 S John Ben Shepperd Pkwy, Odessa“Pros: kitchen, full size fridge/freezer, bathtub, work space in rooms, alarm clock, free washers & dryers, cupboard where you can buy single serving laundry detergent, travel toothbrushes/toothpaste, ice cream, Hungry Man meals, and get complementary coffeeCons: tv didn't work, hair from previous occupant on pillowTLDR; good value for the money, I appreciate the kitchen and being able to soak in a tub, so I'd definitely stay here if I'm ever in Odessa again.Housekeeping seems to visit once per week, on Sunday, and they didn't bother to visit my room at all despite me not leaving out the 'catch me some other time' magnet. Most everything was clean, except for the pillows which had hair from the previous occupant, so they probably didn't wash the bedsheets either; kind of annoying that I had to do my own laundry as soon as I got in, but at least you CAN do that here as they have free washers and dryers available. The bathroom has a tub, so you can soak in a nice hot bath. What is it with other hotels getting rid of tubs???The kitchen is well outfitted with the following: 2 butter knives, 2 forks, 2 spoons, 1 spatula, 1 serving spoon, 1 large sharp knife, 1 small pot with lid, 1 large pot with lid, 1 colander, 1 cutting board, 1 500mL glass measuring cup, 2 mugs, 2 small glasses, 1 large glass, 2 bowls, 2 small plates, and 2 large plates. Should be enough to let you cook almost anything you like. They even give you a small bottle of dish soap and a scrub brush, plus a tea pitcher with lid in the fridge. Lastly, they have 2 trash cans, and each one has a spare liner in it, in case you generate a lot of trash.Rooms: There's an L-desk built-in under the TV with an outlet right there, so it's convenient for doing computer work. I really like that they have an actual tub in the bathroom so you can take a nice Epsom salt soak after a long day in the field.Walkability: There is none. You'll have to drive if you want to go anywhere that isn't another hotel.Food & drinks: They don't have breakfast, but they do have a cupboard where you can buy all kinds of munchies. Hungry Man meals, ice cream, Danishes, trail mix, pretzels, cold drinks, and free fresh brewed coffee.”
“I stay at this location multiple times a month. I’m finally tired of them not recognizing my diamond elite status, never honoring my stay preferences, and always saying you have to eat the breakfast buffet. The breakfast coupon I get specifically says cooked to order. People stay at a Holiday Inn versus an express because it is supposed to be a little nicer with better food options. This place might as well be an express making you eat the buffet on a paper plate. Also hopefully they fixed the parking charge. This is the first time in a long time that I wasn’t charged parking. This place has gone down hill in the last 6-8 months.”

John Ben, 5321 John Ben Shepperd Pkwy, Odessa“The floor had crumbs on it from those who had stayed previously. Also rubber band of some type was on the floor. The shower door wouldn't close tightly and leaked water. But the bed was clean and the bathroom also.”
“Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at, the breakfast and breakfast attendant were so amazing! The room was always spotless when I returned, the only thing that could have been better was the weird smell on the 2nd floor hallways and one of the elevators was down. Other than that I recommend this ”
