“I was a loyal SunTrust customer for most of my life before moving to Texas and having to close my account because they didn't do business here. Years later, SunTrust merged with BB&T and here we are.
I decided to open an account with Truist and it was an absolute nightmare at first. I had to make several appointments over the course of a couple weeks due to my initial account information being wrong, then after correcting it, they closed my accounts for suspicion of fraud. I had to go into the branch again with several forms of ID and had to open new accounts once again.
I'm not sure what happened, but SunTrust was NEVER like that. I assume that the people from BB&T are running the show now? I never had any business dealings with them.
Anyway, as far as this branch goes, I haven't had much interaction with most of their employees. Their branch manager is friendly and offered me a bunch of snacks and water. Debbie was awesome and enjoyable to be around. If you come to this branch though and you get Debbie, be forewarned, she's a talker and you'll have a conversation about many things, lol.

“I took my step son to open up his first checking account there which i had to be linked to. The friendly lady rep was very helpful and explained all the benefits of having it be a student account and explained the overdraft protection (which the kid definitely needs he is kind of an idiot with money) allows you to still make purchases when you don't have enough and charges you $35, if you waive that then it just won't let you buy whatever you want. Also since he is making under $800 a month there was no $5 maintenance fee for a student account; I feel this is the perfect setup and hopefully helps him pave his way into adulthood.”
