Academy Sports + Outdoors is a versatile retailer catering to a wide range of outdoor enthusiasts. With a comprehensive selection of quality hunting, fishing, and camping equipment, as well as patio sets, barbecue grills, and various sports and recreation products, the store caters to both seasoned veterans and those just starting out. Customers generally report a well-organized and well-laid-out store, with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The prices are considered suitable for most, with regular discounts offered. While checkout lines can sometimes be longer than at other stores, the staff maintains a welcoming and hospitable attitude. Customers appreciate the opportunity to "try before they buy" for certain products, such as knee braces, to ensure a proper fit and function. The store's brand ambassadors are described as passionate about the customer experience, going the extra mile to assist and engage with shoppers. However, a few customers have reported less-than-satisfactory experiences, such as a lengthy curbside pickup process and a concerning incident involving damaged firearms purchased online. Overall, Academy Sports + Outdoors appears to be a go-to destination for outdoor and sports enthusiasts, offering a diverse product range and generally positive customer service.
