Rosenberg Animal Control & Shelter (RACS) is a small Texas shelter with a big vision for its community. RACS offers both field- and shelter-based programs that service over 1,400 pets in the City of Rosenberg annually. Each animal entering the door is seen as an individual worth getting to know – and worth every staff and volunteer effort until they are matched with the right home. In 2018, RACS committed to becoming a No Kill shelter. In January 2020, RACS achieved a No Kill milestone after its Live Release Rate averaged at 94% over 12 consecutive months. RACS continues to do everything it can, medically and behaviorally, to save more lives above the 90% benchmark. Reviewers praise the shelter's staff as the "sweetest people" who are "so kind and friendly" in helping animals find their "furever homes." The shelter has also received positive feedback for its adoption process, with one reviewer expressing joy over their adopted "furbaby" and the great experience working with the team. The shelter is described as providing "awesome" and "genuine service," with one reviewer planning to send a donation.
