“I would like to give a shout out to John on saginaw blvd . I came in this afternoon having a bad day and not only was I greeted with a smile I was asked is there anything he could help me with . I was like hesitant but appreciated the attention he gave me after I walked in . Usually when I visit a dollar general I get looks but no hello how are you. Today I was having a rough day . I truly appreciate John for just acknowledging me . This is rare when it comes to customer service now a days . Not only did he acknowledge me he made small talk and asked me if I needed help finding anything. I just want to say thank you for brightening my afternoon after having a bad day . Never have I ever entered a dollar general and have gotten this kinda customer service . Thank you john and I look forward to visiting more often on saginaw blvd this will be my GD go too.”

This review is about one item that could be Michelin star level. The huge bag of hand-cut style fries.
Not Del Friscos, Chamberlains, or any restaurant you can think of has better than these fries when prepped right.
Fry Daddy @350°, peanut oil. First place a single layer if fries between thick paper towels. Flash thaw in the microwave on high 1 min.
Make sure they are thawed and dry. Place a single order in the basket and drop them a second, lift in case they bubble up. Now drop them 8 minutes, stirring them every 2 minutes so they get evenly browned.
Prep your cracked black pepper, a light seasoned salt, and a pinch of brown sugar mixture.
At 8 minutes place the golden spuds on paper towels to drain, immediately season while still hot from grease. Close your eyes. Now enjoy the best fries of your life.
I have a pro fry cutter, have tried vinegar baths, salt blanching etc. I've made them as many ways as there are days. These compete with my best, at a fraction of the cost and almost no work... no effort.
While there, case of pepsi? As low as $5, 36 cans- varies from about $6. I stopped drinking sodas, but if I fall off the wagon, Town Talk it is.

“A very strange fusion of Dollar general with Party City or at least that's the vibe it gives off. They have a lot of very inexpensive and in some cases very cheap decorations.... Yes, there is a difference between inexpensive and cheap. If you plan to throw any decoration you buy here away, you have come to the right place. I would not look to buy any Deco here that you can keep from event to event. We spent $70 pretty quickly on a bunch of birthday deco and TBH I really don't know where The Deco went but I was told it was all used. We purchased some pantry stuff. A fairly sizable store located inside a previously failed Pier 1 imports, yet on a Friday mid-afternoon there was only one employee in the whole place. So the merch is whatever you decide, but just don't expect to get a lot of help if you need it.”

Every time I go in, I swear I’m only grabbing one thing… then suddenly I’m at the register with snacks, goofy tech gadgets, workout gear, a lava lamp I absolutely did not plan on, and some sour candy that’ll make your whole face do a U-turn. And it still somehow doesn’t break the bank — that’s the magic trick right there.
The store’s bright, fun, and wild in the best “I-might-find-something-awesome-for-$3” kinda way. Staff is friendly, shelves are packed like Tetris pros live in the back, and it’s just an easy place to feel good in. Perfect for grabbing gifts, little happiness boosters, or stuff your kids will freak out over.
Not everything’s life-changing… but honestly? It doesn’t need to be. It’s the kind of place that gives your brain a breather and your cart a goofy joyride.
Cheap thrills. Tiny treasures. Pure serotonin aisle by aisle.
And yes, I will absolutely be going back. My self-control didn’t make it past the squishmallow bin last time — I’m not expecting a miracle next round either ?”
“When you feel like being a little frugal this is the place to go. If you love candy this will be your go to store..Lowest prices of anywhere I have seen. If your going to the movies be sure to stop by with the kids and get your candy here before the show.”

“Every employee at this store was very nice but I want to leave an amazing review for Priscilla who took the time out to help me with an order I was shopping for someone else and I was struggling to find things because I'm not used to shopping at this store and stuff was scattered everywhere. I hate going in and bothering them because I know each one has to do a little but if everything: cashier, stock, assist customers, etc. I walk in and look for something and they'll drop what they're doing to go help any way they can. Item doesn't scan, they'll go locate a duplicate and scan it for me within seconds of what it would take me to find it again. Cannot express how much I appreciate them and Dollar Tree stepping up their product game.”
